Does anyone know how long it takes to get a vin? I ordered about 2 weeks ago. 10/22/24 to be exact. Still no vin.

I ordered the same day (Oct 22) and got a VIN the same day but I'm in Austin, I had to stall because I'm just waiting on my title to come in from the lender as I had just paid it off a week before. The Tesla sales support really sucks because no one responds in the app or on the phones and you have to drive to the store to get some answers...

Varies wildly, both based on (among other variables) your location and the lifecycle of the vehicle. I.e. where it is in terms of production ramp up.

If you listen to some folks on this forum, Tesla ought to be able to match you with a vehicle instantly because they’ve got untold numbers sitting around with nobody wanting to buy them.

Your sales advisor is your friend. Send a text in the app or call Tesla make contact with an advisor get their name cell phone number and hurry up and wait.

Once you do, do us a favor and ask them why they don’t simply match you with one of the hundreds of vehicles that reliable sources on this forum tell us are sitting around with signs on them begging someone to “please take me.”

Great, thanks for the updates. I’m in the Bay Area, Cali. So I’m assuming there’s a lot of orders around here lol

As someone else said if you’re unable to get them to connect with you via electronic means then definitely if you can just show up at a service center and someone will help you. Then make that person your contact from then on don’t leave without getting there cell number which I have found is the best way to communicate with Tesla.

I'm in NorCal as well. Took 5 days from receiving the 10/11 open invitation wave of non-Foundation orders; ordered 10/11, completed registration & financing on 10/12, and received a VIN on 10/16. My guess is that a lot more people are ordering non-Foundations and driving wait times up. As a Tesla stock holder, I like to hear that. But as someone that waited for a VIN and delivery, I feel your pain. ?

I received my VIN (49XXX) on 10/28, just over two weeks after ordering. I don’t have a delivery date though; went to the service center yesterday, and they were able to show the location of my truck — hasn’t left TX yet.

eta: will be taking delivery in Fife, WA.

Once a vehicle is shipped to a particular location, it is very unlikely that Tesla will sell it anywhere else.

In any case, it sounds like there are still shortages of Cybertrucks, depending upon your location.

Back in my day, we configured our Cybertrucks in 2 feet of snow, both ways! VINs were delivered by horseback in triangular envelopes. My truck didn't arrive for 4 months!

Darn ungrateful kids.

you got a sales advisor? I got one 4.5 years ago for model 3, but the chat has absolutely been like pulling teeth buying the Cybertruck. I have to send 2 or 3 messages before someone responds.

But I’m almost to the finish line. 11/6 I’ll be picking up my Cybertruck and I couldn’t be more stoked! I ordered 10/4, vin assigned 11/2 shortly after I rejected Teslas trade in “offer”. In WA
