No definitely not. DC chargers are 3 phase power
That's not how DC chargers work.

They're just chargers, like in the car, that sit outside the car, and convert (whatever their input, which varies by model) to DC to the battery. Some are three phase, to connect to the grid that way, but not all are. I doubt, for instance, they convert from a powerwall into three phase for the short distance to the charger to the plugged in car.

I think Elon said on a joe rogan podcast that it is definitely not going to be 150 kWh battery pack. It’ll be smaller then that. I could be wrong ? anybody else remember this?
That sounds vaguely familiar to me too. I remember thinking elon errs on the side of smaller batteries which seems disappointing except that the efficiency of his vehicles is better. Just a vague memory in my brain, don't quote me. And on top of that they have certainly done some redesign in the last few years.

Just buy a Tesla wall connector and install it.

Best value, best features, and if you do need J1772 charging, there is a simple adaptor.

It is the one Tesla product which is not just the best, but the best price as well.

My only concern is that the cybertruck might require a different kind of charger.

with all of the current superchargers dispensed across America, there is zero chance of that.

Then just do the wiring.

It's unlikely that Tesla, a company that just released a roadmap for their EVSE plug to be open and backwards compatible, is going to sundown their installed base absent government intervention.

And it's unlikely the government is going to upset the supermajority of EV owners by changing things.

And the tesla DC charger cost $60k-$75k. so theres that to consider as well.

I am putting 6 chargers at our office and did a bunch of research on the chargers. Tesla offers 220 3 phase and other cooler charging options in other countries, but in the US we are stuck with 220v single phase.

In case anyone is interested, if you do 6 tesla chargers you can be in their business app and they will allow you to use their payment software so it will charge the users and you get paid based on the $/kWh you set. Tesla charges $0.01/kWh for the usage but no other service fees.

Tesla just released the specs for their charger and proposed it as a national standard. They also said the charger is capable of charging up to 900 kW which is a pretty comfortable backstop.

It’s possible Tesla releases a new higher capacity wall connector for consumers, but if you install a Tesla Wall Connector with 60 Amps service, you should be set. Only way 60 Amps isn’t going to fit the bill is if you are regularly driving 400+ miles per day from home. I find a higher capacity home charger unlikely.

Here’s the ultimate prep for any circumstance. Have an electrician install a small 100 amp sub panel right by where you are going to need the charger. Then installing the charger would just require a short home run to that panel and if you install a second charger, the panel is right there.

Installing a plug is a bad idea. It’s pointless for a wall connector and as has been pointed out elsewhere can even be dangerous. Much much better off just wiring direct.

Did a little searching, there are some 64 amp (requires 80 amp breaker) chargers which are available. They are about $1,200 and use the J1772 connector.

I don’t think it’s worth paying almost 3x as much for the rare occasion you need a 20% faster charge, but if it’s a big concern, they are out there.

No, you install the plug for now, until you choose your permanent installation.

I don't think they should make a Special charger for the CT, different from what they already have now. The Technology of the cyber truck will have all the Bells and whistles inside that will do the magic.🤞😅🫰
