Strange that not a single beast has been reported by any non-Tesla employees/non-VIPs….
Depends on which reservation message that you believe. For most of them, the Beast isn't anticipated until mid to late this year.

It’s really not all that strange if you think about it this way. Any VIP would probably be ordering the beast as opposed to AWD. Since they haven’t built that many beasts and the VIP is queue for beasts is long, then it’s going to take a pretty long time before non-connected people will get theirs.

Another way to look at this is comparative: how many AWD‘s were delivered before non-employees got theirs? Probably a few hundred. And that took a month to start delivery to non-employees. Maybe they have to build a few hundred beasts before non-employees get theirs… at this rate, early 2024 may be out of the equation for regular consumers, unless the ramp increases substantially.
understand the sentiment, but if you look at the data it’s not strange at all

There were far more total AWD’s built before the delivery event, than there have been total Beasts built to this date

there is a long and slow line of Friends and Family deliveries to go before the Beast is in the equivalent space to the AWD
That assumes a lot of beasts were ordered….most employees who I’ve spoken with or heard about ordered AWD and they represent the majority of the “friends & family” orders.

In any case, at this rate I would expect to see deliveries or at least vin assignments for TriMotor to non-friends & family in the next 2-3 weeks.

There has been 2 that I have seen. One guy is in my area. His mom won the beast in the Dana White giveaway. The other posted from Cali.

Giveaway is clearly not in the non-VIP category. As for the one in Cali, I’d bet they (or their spouse) work at Tesla or they are considered VIP. If you have a link to their post I could investigate.

Don’t know if I can find it but it got my attention because he showed the beast logo. Hopefully since 19 vins were activated yesterday we will start seeing deliveries in a few weeks.

id say these are probably both fairly F&F

the guy didn’t get it from Tesla, he got it from Dana White

not familiar with the CA one, admit, but until I hear otherwise I’m dubious

yes it does assume that. Could be wrong, but I feel comfortable with that assumption.

for one thing, I’d suspect the “employees” you’re hearing from are not the F&F getting the earliest Beast VINSs - these are eg BINs 24-50, coveted, VIP vins.

so, could the gross line of F&F Beasts be shorter than AWD? Absolutely

but it’s still a slow line, and - the only thing relevant to this discussion - means there should be zero surprise that we’re not yet seeing normal joes getting these trucks in any material numbers during January

I don’t think the goal is to make them for the employees. Sure a few big wigs get priority, but not many. The average Tesla employee is in the same boat we are waiting.

No one said “surprised”…it’s Tesla…but the relevant takeaway is we should start seeing reports of Beast VINS being assigned in the next few weeks…

“Surprised”, “strange” whatever …

it’s neither of those or any nearby synonym

I don’t think you’re understanding what “employee” is being use for as short hand for

“friends and family” maybe a better shorthand

it’s not basic employees that would make up the bulk of the first 100ish Beasts plus

its executives and upper management of Tesla, SpaceX, Musk’s family office, etc., PLUS key and early investors in those outfits, PLUS, generally wealthy/famous people, PLUS “marketing” relevant influencers and the like

Nobody’s suggesting these early Beast VINs are going predominately to John Q Employee in logistics.

and for the same reasons, they sure as hell likely to be going to John Q public

This guy has one. Is he on the 100 list you are speaking of?

yes, very possibly

he’s illusive about his RN timing

then he describes that he and an unnamed friend purchased it together

then they use it to start http://rentcybersf.com/

then he’s a long time Bay Area software engineer and startup cofounder with what looks like a few exits under his belt in the perception camera space

AND he (or his friend) have an early VIN Beast

So yeah, whether he, or his “friend” he purportedly bought the truck with have some F&F connection to Tesla or a Tesla sister company/supplier, etc., seems likely to me

or he’s an exception that proves the rule

I tend to believe the only one for which there is a photo, much less multiple photos

until otherwise, I assume the exceptions to the rule who don’t have photos are simply misremembering/understanding what they saw
