You don’t need a rear view, this is why Tesla is so great! They figured it out for you and gave you a Camera that can view more than the human eye. You have to adjust to it.

We have a solution coming for this, FSD is degraded when the rear camera is obscured...Tesla has done a lot of work to deal with occlusions, but there's only so much magic before the camera becomes useless. None of the other glass coatings work (lens isn't glass, for a start), tried them all.

The Cybertruck is the only truck I own, and overall, I like it. However, the rearview mirror is terrible. As shown in the attachment, the camera is unreliable in the rain—even when the rain isn’t heavy.

I hope there was something can clean the lens when driving.

When raining, I hit the camera button on the wheel and swipe up too show rear camera in large format. It overlays the navigation, but helps. It seems the issue is when it displays on the left side small format.

Not ideal, but a workaround in inclement weather. I'm waiting for the light bar for my CB and then plan to embed one of the digital rearview mirror cameras into that.

I purchased your solution for my model y and it was incredible but lasted a few weeks at most.

Just saw this article about a new rear camera on the 3 and Y to address similar problems.

Interesting, the article mentions that "you’ll soon be able to 3D print and install a similar design. Some entrepreneurial 3D modelers have already started working on making a retrofittable shield for both the HW3 and HW4 rear cameras."

They also mention applying a ceramic coating as a potential fix.

Yeah we are from a really small town. I literally know everyone. It is really important that I know the front of the truck of each person. I have flash cards to match the front of truck to the person. Keeps my dementia away. Rear view driving is fun. That camera doesn't like me staring at the rearview screen though.

That's ridiculous.

I still don't get what is so important back there that it has to be tack sharp at all times. And this is coming from someone who drives in rainy conditions almost as often as the dry.

This is a real problem. It is important to know who is coming up on you whether it is raining or not.

I use my side mirrors to see approaching traffic. If they are approaching Hauling Ass, they are probably well over the speed limit too!

To be fair, my rear view ALWAYS looks like OP's picture. It's never even THAT clear. It sucks. I can NEVER see anything at night in it. I took my truck to Tesla and mentioned that my camera sucks at night and showed them a picture. They said they'd look at it. They did. "Cannot duplicate camera issue." and "Issue resolved." Well, duh... It's the middle of the day.

Anyway, yeah, my rear camera sucks.

I don't get it... My Model Y has the same issue with it's camera...

One thing nobody is mentioning though is that most of the water getting in the 'view' is from THE ROAD SPRAY and not the rain... Maybe better mud flaps would help? Anyone out there with good mud flaps have the same issue? Curios to know for BOTH my vehicles (CT and Y). We don't get a lot of rain here in my area (only about 15 inches - Per YEAR), but still, it would be good to know it that will help a lot or not...

Personally, I would like to be able to 'zoom' the camera (OR the image) so that I could read the plate of the car behind me BEFORE it gets too close! Heck, I don't even have a good way of telling if the car behind me is a cop or not!
