I am getting my CT tomorrow and very exited to plan a road trip during 4th of July weekend. One thing worries me is the truck does not have a spare tire so I am looking for some repair kit.

I know there is a CT specified, expensive kit coming in late 2024, but I also see this one on Tesla website. Can I still use this cheaper version? I know I have to have an adaptor for 12V.

Is there any other repair kit recommend for tire? All my previous cars has spare tire or run-flat, so looking for advices here. Thanks in advance!

I bought this well-reviewed patch kit:

I've already used it, but not on the Cybertruck hahahaha. Plugged a nail puncture well, didn't even need to jack it or remove the tire.

I have one of these in each of my MYLR's, and just moved one to my CT. I've plugged a few nail/screw holes over the last four years. The plugs work great.

I wish the case were a bit smaller. I might try throwing all the supplies into a small bag of some kind, but I never think about it until I have to use the kit, which is rare, haha!!

The Tesla kit is just a small tire inflator and a can of "fix-a-flat" sealant - making it limited in scope and well over-priced for what you receive. If you use the sealant, it will require the TPMS sensor in the wheel be replaced.

I see a couple of posts already give you good options on a patch kit. Couple that with a tire inflator and you should be good to go.

How do you locate where the hole is in the tire on a dark road in order to be able to plug it? How is this easier than just using the fix a flat goop?
Not being a smartass. Genuinely trying to figure out what to buy…

Spray bottle and soapy water normally does the trick. 👍

You should keep a flashlight in your vehicle anyhow.

As above, fix a flat will help but it'll foul the tire pressure sensor. It also generally costs more to replace a tire that's been patches with good - they have to take time to wash the goo out of the tire and wheel.

So an inflator and or a patch kit is also the cheaper way out of a flat situation.

Personally, I carry an inflator and a can of fix a flat (and a flashlight) in my car and just pay the difference. But fix a flat is just designed to get you back to town fast, and like the patch kit, won't repair sidewall damage (you need a spare for that). So consider that when you do different maneuvers with your truck, and carry the appropriate gear.

Okay with only one fix, low technical or physical ability, only need to get back to town once or fast? Fix a flat.
Out longer, want fixes that'll last on a trip a little further, have the time/ability to repair? Patch kit.
Going to do anything involving curbs, rocks, water crossings, and are going further than you can get back in a day? Spare.

Also, there's cheaper patch kits out there, too. You don't need a fancy case; mine is in a ziplock.
