Tire replacement / repair

I have a slow leak in one tire. Has anyone used a 3rd party for tire repair or replacement?

Yes, for a CT no, but on my M3P, I ordered from tire rack shipped me new rubber and the wallmart manager put it on for me. They did complain there machine wasn’t equipped to handle my size / low profiles tho but was willing to do it as rim was already curb rashed.

Anyone with the machine can do it, if leak is in the tread then they patch it, it’s likely a bead seal if not sometime re seating the rubber will fix it. You Find the leak your self via some dawn dish soap / water mix and look for the growing bubbles.

Call Discount tire and purchase their tire warranty like I did. For less than price of one tire you can insure ALL your tires for repair or replacement. Misnomer, you do not have to purchase tires from them to purchase a warranty....call them.

I just had the Tesla service center patch my tire that had a nail in it. Charge was $140 but I complained about all the cybertruck problems since delivery and they ended up doing it for free.

Most any tire store will do it, many of them will do it for free.

Have plenty of rural/individual owned tire shops that are cash friendly. Have always patched my tires for a clean $20 bill.

I'd hate to be the dude with a tire leak, and a dirty/wrinkly $20 bill.

I guess my real question is how hard is it to get these special made Goodyears if a replacement is needed and as this is my first Tesla wasn’t sure how the 3rd party folks are at knowing how to put it in service mode when lifting the truck. Only two in my area right now so not a lot of experience at the service centers.

Tire stores have been lifting Teslas for years.

Discount Tire is way way better than anyone I have been to. They actually torque the lugs, AND they kept the staggered tires on the Model X on the correct rims.

The tire warranty does make sense to me too. I replace the OE tires with the Michelin Platinum same exact size tires but more pressure (60 pounds) and an 80,000 mile warranty. I will put the stock tires back on if it ever snows again.
