My AWD Cybertruck was delivered with a vibration I mentioned it on delivery day they had me make a service appointment and now they are going to replace the drive unit.
Will this impact the value of the truck?
What options do I have?
It has been in the shop since 5/27/24 they have the part but nothing has been done.
I haven’t been able to connect to the truck in 14 hrs and there is no update from service. I’m starting to worry.

I just read through the entire SOPR for this RDU replacement and it does not specify new hardware when reinstalling the unit which I find concerning. Maybe I missed it?
Steps 81 through 86 put the original drive unit into an empty crate and remove the new unit from its shipping crate.

I had vibration through the accelerator pedal when slowing down in the 40s specially at 44. Then above 70 it got much more noticeable but still through the accelerator pedal.
It felt worse on certain days not sure why.
I avoided the conditions that caused it until I got it into service.
I have this too, I've been attributing it to regen. Maybe I'll show service next time I go.

I can make it happen repeatably now. It happens at about 20% regen strength. I figured it was speed and climate control/ambient temp based (which is what I meant by attributing it to regen, my model Y would get noisy when I had heat on). But it seems to happen at a specific strength of regen every time.

I also have this exact issue. I'm hoping someone finds out what the fix is before my service appt.

Update. I picked up the truck last night it feels very different. The vibration is gone and it also has a lot more regen. Also feels like it has significantly less acceleration before it was undoubtedly faster than my long range model 3 now it feels slower. I only drove it 20 miles so we will see. The main screen was glitching a lot to idk if I can deal with another SC visit for a wile so hopefully this works itself out.
I have a similar vibration issue with my CT. I told my SC manager about your problem and how it was fixed. He asked if I could get the VIN of your truck so he can get the service record. Can you give me the last significant digits of your VIN? It would help me a lot.

I have a similar issue. VIN 9752. I took delivery on Thursday (June 13th). The next day I scheduled a service appointment for the issue. In the meantime, I took it to my local tire shop and had the tires inspected and wheels balanced (this did not help). I can feel it mostly in the steering wheel and floor boards. Sort of feels like you're holding an electric toothbrush. Vibration starts at about 45MPH and becomes really apparent at 60MPH. Seems the worst between 55-65 and gets a little better at 70+. I dropped it off at the SC yesterday morning. They actively worked on it during the day and took it for 3 different test drives. This morning I saw they moved it outside. When I asked for an update I was told the local tech confirmed the vibrations and made a request to the "off-site tech team" for a resolution. I will update as I get further info!

UPDATE: I just received word from the SC they are ordering a new front drive unit for my Truck. Being shipped from Texas and should be in sometime next week.

Can you describe your symptoms? Is it a rumbling sound that occurs at certain speeds? How much vibration can you feel in the wheel and elsewhere in the cabin? Are the symptoms completely absent at higher or lower speeds? Did the SC rebalance your wheels? Did that make any difference?

I'm having the same experience of vibration which was present immediately after delivery. I've been to a SC three times so far without resolution. My symptoms are a rumbling sound accompanied by subtle vibration throughout the cabin but most noticeable in the steering wheel. It occurs between 50 - 70 mph, but most noticeable between 55 and 65. The SC tech wants to compare with another CT before taking any action. The standard explanation is the all terrain tires are the cause, but, honestly, the CT's tires do not have a very aggressive tread.
This is probably old news, but I had the identical problem and they replaced my rear drive motor. It has been awesome ever since.

Mine is making a crazy chirping noise from front motor as it spools up through 30-35 MPH and oddly vibrates as it regens coming back down through 40mph. Have service appointment 8/15/24. They refuse to pre-order drive unit. Insist they have to hear it first. Any advice from those who got theirs switched out, how to avoid being told that "these noises are normal, go home"? I have VIN in the 17000s and took delivery 6/28/24. Was made first week of June foundation series, so dual motor.

Ask them to go for a drive with you so you can make sure they experience what you are experiencing. They will need to confirm the issue with a special tool that detects vibrations.

I hope that it is not just a vibration level cut-off with some meter that is determining whether the motor unit is replaceable. Clearly the noise it makes is nothing close to what my other teslas make. Just way too loud and irregular with the regeneration.
