Ordered 5 Nov and I got a message today from Tesla advisor that I have a vin and to upload insurance…. I can’t wait for delivery.

That was fast. It took 3 weeks for me to get my VIN (got it at the beginning of this week) but I still haven’t heard back on financing and it doesn’t appear anyone did a credit check yet. I’m in the PNW so maybe it takes longer for delivery and they don’t do the credit until they are further along.

For clarification, if VIN contains:

S = 2025
R = 2024

Congrats! You might get lucky and get a 2025 model (look for an "S" in the VIN instead of an "R").

If you resell in 2-3 years it makes a difference to buyers even if the car is identical.

back on 4/4/21 I placed my CT reservation, on October 11 I got the invitation to order so I did, on October 30 I got a VIN#, November 2 I scheduled delivery for the 15. I was going to make finale payment then. but on the 12 TESLA CHANGED THEIR POLICY any purchase of $50,000 or more must be made by wire transfer. Capital one has a limit of $50,000. so I made a transfer of 1/2 on Saturday and 1/2 on Sunday. Hopefully I can pick it up Monday or Tuesday night.

No! Identical and resale is about condition and miles in this case and if you don’t think so and would buy a 2025 with 75k miles vs a 2024 for 50k miles and pay more for the 2025 because a 3 month build date then you are special for sure
