Tonneau/Tailgate Release Buttons Not Functional

Hello!
Last night we went camping in the rain and cybie sat out all night. When we got back home I found that the tailgate/tonneau bottons are not working, however I can control both via display screen.
So far I’ve tried rebooting cybie, long pressing the buttons, and looking for errors in the service menu. See pic for reference attached.
Has anyone else had this issue and/or have any ideas? (Still under warranty but trying to avoid a service ctr trip)

Could have gotten water in it. Could try letting it dry out, but switch probably needs replaced.

Yes, an unusual early season heavy rain in Southern California. Left the cyber truck with no functioning switch by the tailgate.

An appointment was scheduled at the service center. The replacement repair took abouthalf-day maybe less and they replaced the switch and it is working correctly again. They put me in a loaner, a brand new model S and I had the darnedest time. Trying to operate it. I was so glad to get my cyber truck back.

My truck has lived outside in the rain for the last 2+ years. Never a problem.

Used to see this a lot when water got in too much, like the cause. May start working again after a while or need to be replace if shorted.

IIRC, this was a common-ish complaint with early VINs.

Leave the CT out in the rain, switch stops working due to water intrusion. Again, IIRC, Tesla revised the part.

My VIN 13xxx hasn't had an issue.

This is probably stupid but sometimes I have issues with my Bluetooth key where standing behind the truck doesn’t quite register as close enough to unlock. In the past I’ve done a two button reset and rebooted my phone and that seems to make it go away.
Sorry if this comes across condescending, I’m sure you know if it’s unlocked or not. It’s just happened to me and my first reaction is usually “shit, the button isn’t working”

Thank you! I did used to have problems with the Driver Door Unlock feature, but I confirmed it is not related.

I use a flexible protective tape; the kind dealers use on new carpet delivery. Works well and stays on after rain.

I use it during heavy rainy season here which runs to about early October. I guess others here would say “it’s just a truck”
