Tonneau / tailgate switch not working

Received my CT last Thursday. The tonneau/tailgate switch worked just fine. Friday morning, neither switch would work to activate the tonneau, or tailgate. I had to use to the dash screen inside to activate both. Let me note that it rained the night before. I went back to my Tesla dealer, and asked why this happened. Advisor went back to service manager to discuss. Advisor came back to tell me that they would replace the dual switch, and to make a service appointment, which I did. The earliest appointment was 2 weeks away. I thought, that as long as I could activate these items with the inside screen, I could live with it until then. The rest of the day, the switch would not work. The following day, the switch started working sporadically. To this day, 4 days later, it is still working. Anybody else have this problem? I feel I should have the switch replaced, but wonder if it is something else that caused the switch to not work for one day. Any opinions out there?

Have a switch replaced and be done with it.

Bad contacts, kinked wire, who knows.

It probably dried out after being wet.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the switches don't work if your cybertruck is locked correct? That happened to me, I have not been able to configure my phone as key because the Bluetooth on my phone is broken and I'm getting a new one today. So I have to go to the pillar and unlock the driver door with the keycard, then unlock the rest of the Doors and then the tonneau switch works. Let me know if this was helpful

OP probably did same thing. You can't open a locked car.

I had my phone with me. It should have activated. Driver's door unlocked.

I believe all doors need to be unlocked not just driver door, do a test and let me know

TeslaFANa, You were right! Under "Locks", I found that I had switched "Driver Door Unlock Mode" to ON. This allows only the driver's door to unlock, and not all doors. If the "Driver Door Unlock Mode" switch is in this position, meaning that only the driver's door will unlock, then the tonneau/tailgate switch will not work. As soon as you unlock all the doors, then the tonneau/tailgate switch will operate. I turned the "Driver Door Unlock Mode" switch back off, and I now have no more problems. In some cases, one might want to only unlock the driver's door only, which you would turn the "Driver Door Unlock Mode" back on, but don't try to operate the tonneau/tailgate switch until you unlock all the doors.
