Why is the finish along the edges so weird on most of these trucks?

Probably referring to this picture:

The door edges are where the outer shell is bonded to the inner shell, and I would guess this impacts thermal conductivity. That alters the way moisture condenses on the surface. It's not really a difference in the "finish" but will affect the way water will collect and evaporate.

Took delivery yesterday. The truck is AMAZING. Love it. Smooth delivery experience very memorable, great job by Tesla team in Marina Del Rey.

Thank you! I got my VIN I think 1/11 (might have been 1/10) and still no information about delivery. I'm in Fontana, requested the Upland service center for delivery.

DeLorean owners are sometimes treated to a big "X" across the hood when condensation collects on the exterior. This is due to the underlying composite bracing on the interior:
