Keep in mind, there is nothing to stop Tesla to make a second go-around of all 2 million orders after all have been invited for Foundation series at $20K over to make a second pass with the Cybertruck Special Edition, at just $10K over. Then make that offer to all of the remaining 2 million reservation-holders who did not bite on the $20K over Foundation series.

Then why not make a third pass, at $5K over, for the Cybertruck+. Plus what? Floor mats, extra wheel covers, coat hangers, etc.

It's just good business, extract the most value from people willing to buy the product. I think we won't see the "standard" configs actually go on-sale/available for order until 2027.

QUESTION - for any reading this thread. I keep hearing the 2 million deposits as a number… but we know many of those are multiple orders and/or people who cancelled and got their money back. So how many true waiting (especially from before launch last November) on the list? I would venture to say of 2mill deposits, at least 300-500k got their money back over the last 4 years.. and really I think it might be closer to 750k…. am I totally off base??

Does anyone know when Tesla is going to stop producing Foundation Series and go onto producing what was advertised 4 years ago. I believe Tesla proucted only 1000 of Signature Series for Model S. Are they plan to do the same so Foundation Series actually will become almost collectible item. Or would Elon continue to produce and sell for as long as people order Foundation Series?
Any ideas?

That is an unknown unless you have more than a conjecture. I reserved very early on the 26th (5 days in) and Tesla referred to me as a low RN in a marketing email. I do not know how far out those emails were sent, and I never thought of myself as a low RN out around 250K, but I see no data to support your hypothesis. I do not see why they would stop at 2 days, 3 days, 4 days, etc. I suspect that once they blew past 1,000 that they made a new decision about how many FS to make based more on interest than on RN or when reservations were made.

Thanks.. so you think 1.75 million people are in line 4 years after the initial deposits? Especially many who ordered 5+ CTs… how many are overseas that will never get one or it may be years and years

From what I recall reading the Foundation series by Asimov years ago, which is what Elon based the initial allocation of CTs foundation name, it may be kind of a fcuk you sacrifice?

At least Tesla isn't doing what Dodge dealers are with the Demon 170 and "last call" series, some are even doing illegal "auction". Demon is selling at up to 2x MSRP - 1/4 MILLION for a Dodge !
