I may just be paranoid, Ive taken my trucks on lots of trips but first time this far with a trailer... Trailer is light and only has 2 jetskis on it. not a big wind sail. I've done a 160 mile test run with it and was getting about 2mi/1% of charge. Not bad honestly. We are taking a trip tomorrow from Dallas to Lake Havasu CIty AZ... We like to stop every 100-120 miles to get out and stretch, let the dogs out etc. (makes trips sooo much better). Anyway, I routed the trip and there are chargers every 100-120 miles on average except in 1 area. Flagstaff to Kingman (147 miles). If I go to 100%, I should under normal circumstances make it with 25% to spare, BUT it will probably be COLD and the elevation change is crazy.... I think that will kill a lot more range. about 1/2 way there is Williams, a small town with several chargers that are CCS but the adapters I could get quickly won't work (too short for the CT). Anyone done this run with a trailer? would you be worried about it? I can always drive 60-65 if need be.. Just want some real world opinions on trailering, the mountains, cold, and this kinda distance with nothing much to help if I run out.

I figure I'll get some really good data on the first 8 charges along the way to see if 2mi/1% is accurate.

I have confirmed that this CCS1 adapter from Amazon does work with the CT.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DCGM57PT

I would rather have a Tesla branded one if it would fit but I would rather have this than nothing.

Flagstaff to Kingman is downhill but upwind. The temps should not be too cold at this time of year.

Updating. I just noticed that they changed the text of the product listing to remove the Cybertruck from the compatibility list so I don't know what to tell you. Sorry

Drive 55mph instead.

An alternative is to look up RV campgrounds along the way and call them to see if you can charge at a 50amp site for a fee for a few hours. Doesn’t give you a lot more range, but if you are only short for 20-30miles, that could mitigate the problem.

I purchased this specific one on amazon, it said Cybertruck, but after emailing them they said it would not work. Its being delivered today, so maybe it does work???? that would help a whole lot!

Tip for charging in Flagstaff - use the Supercharger in NE Flagstaff rather than the Supercharger in SW Flagstaff.

250kw vs 150kw and much less traffic. The 150 is often full and would be a pain to manage with a trailer.

I also see that it's more of the way home that i need to worry about... if this adapter doesn't work, i'll see if i can get one that does shipped to the VRBO in Havasu..

Get a Tesla ccs adapter and an eveject. Works great. Only charger I've had issues with is the rtm-50.

So welcome to an adventure!

By the time that you get to Flagstaff, your nav will hopefully be pretty accurate and able to correctly estimate your route.

Let go with two options, you can make it, you can't make it.

1) You can make it. The vehicle will attempt to route you and if it can, that's a pretty big indication that you can. Hopefully you'll have much better data after the long drive and should be able to calculate yourself as well. The thing to look for is the Wh/mile on the odometer cards.
If the nav tells you to slow down, just follow it's advice. It's usually liberal, but I don't think that you trust it yet, so just listen to it.

2) You can't make it. Your trip is lost, you must turn around. Nope, that's not the case. You can still make it, shouldn't be hard, just may take longer.
Looking at Plugshare.com (make sure that you have the app installed) (and maybe some printouts, I'm not sure of the cellular connectivity in this area).
Seligman looks as if there is a general store and a campground with a NEMA 14-50 (I'm assuming that you are bringing the mobile connector with the NEMA 14-50 adapter).
While it isn't as fast as a Supercharger, it really doesn't need to be, all you need is just enough to get you to Kingman.
There's a couple other options as well, the last one east of Kingman. (Great for unexpected circumstances that leave you with not quite enough)
There's a couple of destination chargers in Williams, if you have a good idea of how much you need.

In other words, it appears that there really is no problem "making it" just how long it is going to take.
And of course, this is about the only time that you'll want to charge up to nearly 100% in Flagstaff.

It'll be an adventure. It's a great time to learn what helps and what doesn't. For instance, every 5 mph over 60 is about 10% loss in range.

As you are on the straight and level roads. try some 10 mile tests at different speeds and see what the Wh/mi numbers actually are. You've got about 123,000Whs in the battery. If you can get your Wh/mi to 400, then at 80% usage (10-90%) that's 246 miles.
If my math is right, you'll want to be at about 650 Wh/mi to make the distance, although you may can stretch it up to 800 Wh/mi.

I'm guess you are going to be way less than those numbers.

I don't tow, but I'm faced with this problem when driving off the beaten path out west and on off-road adventures where Cybertruck efficiency can be quite low. Range anxiety often becomes real when Tesla's range estimates can't be relied upon. I found that taking along a dual-fuel generator eliminates a lot of that anxiety.

A 20 lb bottle of propane will put 20 kWh of charge into the battery. That's 40 miles of range @ 500 Wh/mi. I prefer propane over gasoline to avoid having to deal with generator maintenance issues, but I have the option of using gasoline which is available in places that propane isn't. Of course, at 3.2 kW, it takes over 6 hours to burn 20 lbs of propane, so it's no substitute for good trip planning and efficient driving.

Well guys, Im back... after lots of paranoia, I ordered every plug adapter for my charger I could get, I found an RV partk 1/2 way that charges $10 for 2hrs of charging....... It wasn't needed..
On the way there from Flagstaff to Kingman, I tested my adapter at a 350kw charger in Williams, It worked so I felt better. 2nd, that trip is down-hill so I drafted behind trucks and made it to kingman with about 50%!!! charged and went to Havasu.
Return trip is where I was worried.... charged in Kingman to 100%... it's another 4000 of elevation to flagstaff or to Williams where the regular EV chargers where... I set the cruise at 60mph which wasn't easy! LOL.... got to Williams with 42% left!!!
I normally run 75-77 with a trailer, that really takes the juice.... dropping down to 60mph saved a TON and I could have easily made Flagstaff but stopped in WIlliams for a boost.

There is always an RV park around it seems between long stretch's that will let you charge for a small fee....
I've put over 20k miles on these trucks and that's the only time I've been worried about finding a charger, but now it's all alleviated.... never again will i have range anxiety.. just drive slower if you need to.
