I have Model Y that I am trading in for Cybertruck. It was financed by tesla Finance. The trade in offer that I received from them includes the loan balance and that whole amount can be used as equity? Lets say I got 26k trade in offer and my loan balance was 10k. Would be using 26k as equity or 16k?

Yup my 2022 M3P 80k miles was offered at 23k, said nope I’ll drive it till the wheels fall off.

Got it at the end of 21 with no tax credit and the top of the chip shortage, paid 68k for it w/out FSD.

For reference, we recently sold our 2021 Model Y LR with 53,000 miles to Carmax.

We received $25k. They were the highest out of 3 offers and they cut you a check immediately.
Carvana giving me 30k still low. I paid 52k. I'll try CarMax.

30k is about the top. Privately you may get 35-36 for it, but that could take a while.

You can get a brand new one for ~40k.

Tesla offered me 22k for a 2021 with 20k miles, red, 3rd row, and FSD. I told them I don't think they factored in FSD and they said in the chat, "FSD doesn't add much to trade in value".

Be careful about sales tax and selling yourself, check how your state tax is calculated.

Tesla doesn’t make these offers, car auctioneers do. You’re seeing the used car market correct from years of being too high.

There is no sales tax in new jersey.
