Grandkids-“What the —— were you thinking?”

Naive is right. The bill is a turkey from the perspective of many of the congresspeople that voted for it for one reason or another, but nobody wants to cross dear leader.Taxpayer handouts for big oil: business as usual.
Taxpayer handouts for emerging energy technology: must be stopped.
I'm naively surprised about the anti-EV mindset in congress, as so many capital investments (factories, jobs, etc.) are in traditional "red" states.
I remember when we were supposed to be the home of the brave and LEADERS in future tech. ? The way we’ve been ceding solar to China is fucking insane!Naive is right. The bill is a turkey from the perspective of many of the congresspeople that voted for it for one reason or another, but nobody wants to cross dear leader.
I imagine Neil Diamond can’t be too happy about any of this. This country is really going to shit...this administration is causing so much brain drain.
The model 2 was cancelled...or Elon said "shelved".Looks like that Model 2 can’t come fast enough. Hope haters stay hating til I get mine this year. ?
My 1st two Teslas were lighter than the vehicles they replaced. The use of aluminum panels and castings shed weight and if you came from a vehicle of similar performance you swapped a heavy engine for a heavy battery.Eva are quite a bit heavier and do more damage to the roads, but this still seems quite high.
I'm curious about the wording. The NC DMV originally tried to add the EV fee to my Zero SR (electric motorcycle) registration, but I fought that by quoting the vehicle code that describes a plug in electric vehicle as a four wheeled vehicle. Depending on how they define an EV, I may be on the hook for both Teslas, the motorcycle and potentially the BMW i8, since it's a plug in hybrid. That’ll cost me $1250 a year by the time I get my Scout and Aptera.
$750 immediately if this passes. Also, I’ve been paying into Social Security every day since I was 16 years old. That’s MY money.
This is all I can say without launching into a purely political rant, so this is all I’ll say. Assorted choice words omitted.
“What tax credit?” Said the CyberTruck owner.Trump's new tax bill passed the house and below are it's impacts on EVs:
https://www.investors.com/news/tesl...passed-trump-tax-bill-means-stock-market-evs/
- Kills the $7,500 tax credit for EV manufacturers that have sold more than 200k EVs (Tesla) at the end of 2025
- Strips many solar and battery credits Tesla uses
- Kills Commercial Clean Credit
- Imposes $250 a year federal tax per EV to make up for loss of fuel tax
- This would be in addition to your state tax (South Carolina has $250 per year)
Something to keep an eye on as it heads to the Senate.
