33 days later and nothing is resolving the issue. Truck preconditions battery and immediately throws the same errors. Not sure if hardware or a software issue. Now going the buyback route. Absolutely love the truck but not sure I will get another after being stranded multiple times.

Great, I just had this issue. Jan 2026 build, AWD, driving 25MPH through town. Nothing inspires confidence in your new truck like "CRITICAL ERROR PULL OVER".

sorry to see another CT with the same issue. I failed to update. After about 40 day at the SC, but I had a Model X and CT loaner during the period, my CT was successfully repaired. Took several escalations and engineering support. Eventually tracked down the problem to a wiring harness. I was approved for the buyback but decided to keep the truck (I purchased during the zero interest loan). Three months and several thousand mile, zero issues. I dealt with the Chesterfield Missouri SC and they were great to work with throughout. Good luck and hope the issue gets resolved quickly.

I'm worried about the harness replacement. I assume they basically have to tear apart the car. And I know the Service Center is just going to slap the car back together and leave me a rattle trap.

It was a pain taking it in multiple times and being stranded twice. The SC took care of me. I developed a good relationship with the SC staff and that seemed to help. I am sure you will experience the same. Please update as the repair progresses.

According to the way the service manual states these errors, it says only to take it to a service center if it happens on "subsequent drives", so IE: a second time. I guess I'll drive it like normal and see if it happens again and report back here/schedule service center visit.

My truck did it for the first time about a month from purchase. The a second time a few weeks later. Eventually it started doing it multiple times on our first long trip (typical right). Fortunately it happened after the first visit on the lot so I drove it back into the SC bay with the active alert on the screen. After that it became three separate visits as the SC diagnosed and escalated. Godspeed and hope it is only a one off!

Just going back to when you said you were stranded, what would happen after you pulled over, left the vehicle, closed the door and went back? When I did that, everything reset and it drove normally again like it never happened.

Did yours start that way and progress into something worse? Would it not get out of critical failure mode no matter what you did or reset the car? Just wonder what I could possibly be expecting.

So each time it would reset when getting out and coming back in. As the events became more frequent (one trip was every couple of hundred yards) the vehicle would not reset immediately but would within ten minutes. The last time was at work on a day that was 10 degrees. When the vehicle preconditioned the errors immediately started and would not reset. That was December 29. Tesla had the vehicle til Feb 12 when the vehicle was fixed. Big advantage I had was that the errors were repeatable by the techs at the SC.

Tesla service was a breeze And very responsive.

Someone on Reddit is saying they had this issue, and turned out to be not only a bad PCS, but they replace the entire battery pack too. I wonder if these errors are generic HV gone bad errors that can mean multiple things.

EDIT: Did the vin lookup and I have the latest T2-G PCS.

Just an update after about 400 miles over a dozen drives including wash board roads and mild off road; hasn't happened again and service center says it's ok to keep driving and will keep the service ticket open if it happens again.

I just got hit with the VC left and VC rear critical errors driving home today. Got out and back in, reset and fine now. What’s the update from everyone else on this? SC can’t diagnose remotely and told me to come in, but that appt. Isn’t for 2 more weeks.
