I wish it had a better towing capacity. Also legacy automobile companies, bleh. I'm very seriously considering checking out a Gen 2 R1T

I was about to pull the trigger and get the silverado last month , but only got the cybertruck with the hopeful thinking that we will have FSD soon. Hope I did not make a mistake?

Plus The new Silverado EV has steer assist and self driving on highways and on some city roads. Idk may sell my Cybertruck if we don't get FSD soon.

I own an ICE silverado and a CT. I assume the Silverado RST is the very similar to my truck but with a battery. I would not want to pay 100k+ for my Silverado with a battery....

I get that. I also have a 2500HD but with 440 miles of range its not so bad

yeah, range is good for sure. For me at this price tag, i'm just not a fan of the of how legacy auto vehicles hold up after 5+ years, particularly with the North East winters. In CA you might not have to worry. :D

The big problems with the Silverado EV, in my mind, are the weight and the poor efficiency. Sure, it has a longer range than something like a CT, but charging is going to be expensive and time consuming on a long road trip (unless you can find 350KW+ chargers along your route which are not available at all in my area). Having to lug around literally twice the battery in every day driving just doesn't sound fun to me and the greatly reduced payload capacity doesn't help either. Not to mention having to deal with legacy OEM software/buttons.

To each their own, though. It should hopefully ride really well with all that extra mass. Towing heavier trailers should be good, too, assuming you're not worried about the tongue weight taking up the bulk of your payload capacity ...

I did test drive the RST, and was impressed. They did a good job with this one. It had several features that I like, that I know will not be available on the CT (display in front of the driver, HUD, digital mirror, etc). Navigating the software screens was not pleasant. This is definitely where Tesla shines (software) and the competitors struggle.
