What is this on the overhead console?

It's hiding under a rubber cover. There's another one on the other side of the console. I accidentally loosened the flap while cleaning the windshield; it's easily pressed back into place. Interesting that the red marking is an octagonal shape.

That's where your sunvisor locks in place via a magnet.
Did you remove your sunvisors?

I think the red mark is to mark the north or south pole of the magnet so its installed correctly.

Duh! I was cleaning the window with sun visors moved to the side and didn’t notice the obvious…. Thanks for blowing away my cobwebs!

Maybe I should buy a couple dozen of those rubber landing mats for the visors…
