The emitter is one inch, not the whole device.

True.... But do you think those 2 red areas are radar? They are about 9 inches wide if I compare them to the 18 inch front sceen.

There were stereo cameras in the original prototype.

The diagram is just of controllers, too, there are a bunch of grey 'other' electronics. Things like the trailer controller interface should be there, too.

Without the truck I can't say which these correspond to, if any at all.

side-scanning sonar? :ROFLMAO:
Except, they wouldn't need two transducers in the rear together... Maybe one up front and one in the rear.

What I want to know is with that bumper right below the tailgate, who is going to be the first to open their tailgate onto a wrench? Better yet, how will it open further than horizontal? You know, for the ramp.

Perhaps a fish finder for boat mode.

More importantly what are these 2 square ports on the bottom below the bumper?
To which “square ports” are you referring? The outer ‘wings’ of the area in blue?

On other protos, this whole area has been removed to reveal the frame, receiver points, trailer light pins, etc

Not on that truck. The truck Franz was driving after investor day.

my bad

the truck Franz was driving did seem to be a different truck than the one on display inside the event - or at least, they had on different tires

But the investor day truck inside the event doesn’t appear to have an inconsistent bumper to the one on Franz’s truck:

And on a different shot of the investor day truck inside the event, it appears to have the same overall design features as I speculated above with the Palo Alto vehicle - in fact it’s even more obvious the piece under the license plate holder is a separate, removable, piece (surely revealing the subframe, hitch, etc):

Below it, appears to be a second trim piece that does stretch the length of and recessed into the bumper - and correlates roughly to other photos of earlier protos with apparently both trim pieces removed revealing under the long one more access to the the subframe, for where traditionally eg tow hooks, towbar attachments, etc. would go

doesn’t answer all of your question, but does give some context to what else is under or near those “ports,” that portions run the length of the bumper rather than being discrete rectangles, etc.

Similar yes... And I do like your deep research on the rear bumper. It is excellent. 😊
The one with the bump stops is different than investor day ones.

More importantly what are these 2 square ports on the bottom below the bumper? From wiring we can see that electronics exist there. Are these water thrusters? Yes that is what those 2 red boxes are. They are ducted thrusters. Yes there are 2 intakes in the front bumper or more likely those are to seal off the intakes. And the thruster intake is near rear axle.

Maybe wishful thinking from a travel trailer owner. I'm hoping that these are connectors for inputs from solar panels to charge while driving.

Where is tow bar receiver

Is that the boat option which comes sans tow bar receiver

Or is that just a mock up to hide the backend configuration for now?

different yes, but still showing that the same design concept was in play: covers running the length of the lower bumper may be removed to access tow bar/hitch points.

Bumper design in these two photos is the same, only difference is that dirt has accumulated on the lip.
