I’m coming from a 2016 Model S so I’ve never had key cards before. I’m wondering what people generally do with them? Do you keep one in your wallet? I lock my wallet in my CB when I go to the gym so I’m guessing where I place it in the truck is crucial to prevent the truck from just from unlocking. On the other hand, I currently don’t keep a key card on me at all so if my phone ever dies, I will be stranded.
Phone, watch, keycard in the glove box ?

Am I the only one that solely use his phone?
I use my phone, and also have my watch as a backup. I keep one key card in a book within the glove box (I have pin to drive on), and 1 at home.

I remember a buddy saying that there was an issue with the Tesla backend network one time and keys on the phone stopped working? That was in 2021 and now that you mention it I remember that changed for the Cybertruck. Good call!

I minimized my wallet when I switched over to CT. Got a magsafe case and magsafe wallet to attach to my phone. Key is in the wallet in case phone dies.

I keep it in my slim wallet. In the past 4.5 years, never had to use it other then when I’ve had to bring it to the body shop or valet, I give the key to them.

Only reason why I carry it is in case if my phone dies but now that Apple Watch is also a key, there’s less need to keep it as a backup.

I keep one key card in my wallet (just in case it ever needs service, if I’m ever in a ritzy enough place to have valets, or my phone dies) and one at home. Sometimes I leave my wallet in my driver’s door pocket. No issues with the doors unlocking - it’s pretty insistent that the key card be placed on the outside of the b-pillar before it’ll unlock.

I’m GenX and thought you were a Boomer when I saw that thing! Whew!
Not only that, in addition to my keycard, I also keep a pair of folding readers in there! Hey, if I cared about appearances and the judgement of lesser people, I wouldn't be driving a CT now would I?

On re-reading that, I realized it could be seen as an attack. Was not my intention. I was not intending to call anyone here "lesser people". That was more a general statement about folks who jump to conclusions about you based on what you wear or the car you drive.

You have to put the pin in every time or just with the physical key card?

I have an Apple Watch but I don’t think it’s compatible. I’m still rocking the series 3.
