Don't think you've been listening to the earning calls :ROFLMAO:
Whatever ETA Elon quotes, I take it more of a target date that he is trying to hit than the actual deadline he is committed to. He is just bullish, which is good. Otherwise nobody would have built something like a Cybertruck for another 3-4 decades. ?‍♂

It’s more than likely a marketing ploy. Say you have a million reservation holders, for the sake of argument, 50% won’t buy, 25% buy leaving 250,000 people who could buy but are waiting. There will always be a percentage that if kept waiting long enough will just think f@%/ it and buy FS.
Exactly.

That number and how long to keep them waiting will have been worked out months ago.
No. It'll be determined on the fly when they start building inventory and have run out of things to throw on top of the Foundation Series' to fill the gap.

It's the last thing quick about Tesla: they're still price agile.

Tesla had confirmed to me that they will honor the $7K FSD price that I locked in while reserving on the reveal day.
They have to; otherwise they would face criminal penalties in California, where they issued the offer.

Just remember how scaling up production goes, the first batch of models are usually the highest quality since they spend more time on building each vehicle, when they kick it into ramp up phase, that's when you start seeing a lot of problems because of the speed of producing those vehicles.

I would expect the Foundation Series to be the best quality, after the initial run, Tesla historically always looks to cut costs which would be replacing premium parts with average parts.

I think Elon said the same in Joe Rogan's interview. There is always a trade off with either options.
