That's not how manufacturing works. They aren't going to build a line for non-FS when the whole point of FS is to achieve profitability.

You have the option to get a FS now or wait until orders open sometime this quarter and accept delivery of a non-FS next year. Tesla is squeezing FS out to gain extra money as the line ramps to ensure that the CT can make a profit. Profit comes in scale.
Profit can come from scale but also in other ways (e.g., reduction of parts, parts quality, manufacturing efficiency, reduction in necessary workforce, etc.).

I would think the differences will be Non FS will not come with FSD, it will have all season rims and tires, gray interior, no FS badging, no wall connector, none of the included FS accessories, possibly no floor mats

FSD up charge price
Off road rims and tires up charge price
Interior white color up charge price
Wall Connector up charge
Any accessories you want for up charge price

Also they do not want to scare away potential FS buyers

And even though it is not listed as part of FS price there is a price increase for early non patient adopters
You forgot to subtract premium connectivity.

I tend to agree with the above and don't forget the Premium Connectivity charges and the Mobile Charger. (I assume you meant the UWC in your list)

There also a possibility of the offroad software being broken out for purchase.

I do see them offering the FSD, Supercharging and Premium Connectivity package like on the S & X.

What’s the supercharger package for S/X?

Tesla had confirmed to me that they will honor the $7K FSD price that I locked in while reserving on the reveal day.

I hope everything that we all are predicting comes true - non FS specs will be same as FS specs except the $20K add ons. I’m hearing all sorts of rumors on lack of few features, such as ventilated seats, premium audio, no Tonneau cover, etc. If I have to pay $10K extra for these things on top of $80K/$100K, I’ll be very disappointed. Software add on for off-road package is acceptable, but I definitely don’t want to pay extra for other things that are not part of $20K add on, except FSD!

I agree with you totally but (BIG IF) they could ramp up and run three lines that would start to solve the profitability issue. It is probably low on Tesla's priority list to make early reservations owners happy that have waited for nearly five years for a 50K or I mean 80K? truck. Thanks for your post!

I definitely feel short changed for only being provided 6 months of “Free Supercharging” since my home isn’t able to receive home charging unit that I “Paid for” within my FS series CT. (Just thought I would shared again. Haha)

I personally don’t need 20K FS accessories as well, except FSD, but I definitely need the same specs (ventilation seats, premium audio, etc.).
The first Model S had ventilated seats, that disappeared on all subsequent models. The new 3 year package for 5k including supercharging, premium connectivity, and FSD almost ensures that those last two won't be included in the non FS models.

I pay 120 per year for connectivity in my 2018 MS. It came with free supercharging and FSD so it isn't attractive to me but I would assume that 5k package is a golden add on for a huge portion of current Teslas on the road, especially lease cars.

I bought a 2013 Model S Performance in May 2013 with the tan interior and leather seats, and they did not offer perforated/air conditioned seats for a long while after that...

There's no way the non-FS cybertruck doesn't include ventilated seats. They're standard even on the lowest spec Model 3 nowadays.

Reduced speaker/sub count maybe... but even then Tesla only removes that hardware on RWD cars historically speaking.

It's gonna be the same truck without the badging and included accessories/FSD.

Thanks for sharing more details. I definitely need the ventilated seats. This is why I’m hoping to see the non foundation specs before letting go of FS while we are at the last leg of the transition. Ventilated seats and premium audio are not part of $20K FS add on.

I truly hope you are right, but when I asked Tesla to share details of non FS, they said the specs aren’t released yet. What’s there to release when everything is the same? They could have said the exact same thing that you mentioned. That’s where my concern comes from!

The wait for non FS is such a pain, especially after test driving AWD. It drives so incredible, and as @Killlbox mentioned in the other thread, ignorance is bliss. 😆

Why do you think Tesla is not releasing non FS specs?

If the AWD with FSD costs almost $90K, it’ll drive up FS sales. If they are omitting a few features, such as ventilated seats or premium sound, then that’ll also drive up FS sales. If the specs are same as FS, then more people will be ready to pull the trigger.

Releasing the specs is not the same as allowing people to make the reservation. No specs no ETA. Why this drama and suspense? Is this some unique marketing strategy to build anticipation? I asked them yesterday and received this standard answer! 🤦‍♂️

The specs were released in November when the FS specs were released.
Look at what the FS add-ons are. Take those away and you have the non-FS specs.

The RWD specs aren't known yet, but the AWD and Beast definitely are.

I wouldn't want to tell my customers either, would rather they pay up for Foundation Series than wait for the better deal!
