The problem with my 2011 Sprinter and many other vintage and current Daimler and MB products is an inadequate 12 volt entertainment system. I discovered with the current pandemic that many commercial Apple Car Play compatible car stereo systems from China and Japan and Vietnam have gone.on sale. Unfortunately many big box store installers have been laid off. I purchased an Alpine 7ā€ touch screen system with Blue Tooth iPhone compatibility and USB Apple car play compatibility together with Sirius XM receiver and antenna and compact 4 channel amp with new dash tweeters and door coaxial speakers for about $600 bucks. I added an Alpine rear camera and 120 watt powered subwoofer for another $300 to complete the system. With the help of Crutchfield instructions and Posi-Taps and a $40 Axxess special Sprinter harness that interacts with the Cambus it took me about 3 weeks to install it myself. I needed the help of my local Sprinter mechanic to remove the interior front door woofers so I could mount the replacement coaxials on the inner door panels. Some plastic part fabrication skills are necessary with a Dremel and rug cutting iron but thatā€™s kind of what they used to teach us in shop classes in public high school last century. The final off the rack Alpine products function perfectly and sound sweet. Much much better than the 2011 original, Iā€™m hoping the Cybertruck is even better.

Uh thatā€™s a lot of information. I donā€™t know what a lot of that means. To your topic, no the CT will not have CarPlay. Adequacy is in the ear of the behearer. Iā€™m pretty sure it will be adequate for me, but maybe not for you.

CarPlay is a series of mobile APPs, iPhone or Android, useful for travel in driven vehicles for aural entertainment or navigation which respond to oral commands via smartphone or microphone speech recognition protocols. Will the Cybertruck have a Siri equivalent or will it enable wireless CarPlay from a smartphone?

From what I have gathered, the sound system in Teslas are actually very good, even in the Model 3. Now I can't actually confirm or deny, this is just secondary research, but it seems like the reviews I have watched are making the customer happy.

It won't have car play but like the other cars, it will have spotify and bluetooth, which should be able to make most people happy. I'm not really a big spotify guy, but it's growing on me the more available it becomes in just about everything.

Sound quality is a huge factor for me in a car. In every vehicle i've owned except my cadillac, I have replaced the stock system myself for a more premium aftermarket purchase. I love blasting music down the highway, I do a lot of work calls when I am on a work trip, and I love drive in theaters. So it's important to me that that the Cybertruck has some premium sound quality, if not, i'll have to replace it.

Here, at the Ventura fairgrounds parking lot they have converted it to a Drive-In Concert venue. The Cybertruck would be PERFECT! They pipe the music over a radio station so we currently use a Ghetto Blaster from Costco so we don't kill the car battery. But with the Cybertruck we'd be sitting in the bed with the stereo Cranking!

From what I've gathered on Twitter, Tesla has it's own vehicle to phone interface and will not use CarPlay.

As for acoustics? Teslas reportedly have better than average sound because they are quieter than typical vehicles...which equates to not having to have the volume so loud as to induce distortion. So unless your a hue audiophile you might be fine with the stock sysem.

My friends M3P's sound system is stunning for a vehicle. I am used to hearing high quality Audio as my Dad runs a recording studio. My Audi also has the upgraded Bang & Olufsen system and i believe Tesla's to be on par.. the difference is my Audi is not sound insulated well enough so the Tesla takes the crown.

I used Dynamat in the inner door panels of the 2 coaxial speaker channels. All I can say is my 5 channel Alpine S system is the bomb in my 6 cylinder diesel Sprinter.
