Window Tint Experiences & Suggestions?

I had my normal shop do my windshield for $600 (xpel xr plus). They have been flawless for 15-20 cars that they worked for me/family/ friends but for the CT windshield, it was bad. The windshield had snowflake and ghosting. They admitted they tried their best but were not up to the challenge of the CT windshield and refunded me.

Then went to OCD as they were also doing my wrap and they costed 1.6k for 3m. No issues.

Mine is the stek green CT they wrapped.

do you suppose there would be any issue with the tiny and the front camera for fsd?

They shouldn’t even remove the camera housing and just cut around it. The FSD stuff will be fine. It’s the clarity for humans especially at night + rain. It was pretty much unusable in that condition.

I have 15% on my M3P and Silverado but going with 5% on the Cybertruck for privacy. 15% is too see through imo

I went 55 on the windshield, 20 match on all sides, and 70 on the roof and back bed view window. Perfect in my opinion. If you go dark on the back window, it will be super difficult to see into the bed when the cover is closed, which for me is 99% of the time.

This is 20% on 4 side windows and back window. Nothing on front or roof. Didn’t want to go darker on sides due to visibility at night. I think it’s decent but slightly lighter than expected. Mostly due to the white trim and sunroof. My other gmc truck with 20% is darker for sure (dark interior and no sunroof). Was quoted like $700 for front windshield and $350 for roof. Figured I’d see how it looked before spending more money on the big windows.

I own a tint shop in NJ, 20% is going to match the rears. Technically nothing is legal on the 2 front doors or windshield here in Jersey. 99% of the cars that we tint include the 2 front doors. Enforcement has been nonexistent in the last few years . The newer generation of officers all have their personal vehicles tinted believe me they’re my best customers and recommend us all the time. I’m in Hamilton so 20% on the 2 fronts are not a problem. Not sure how it’s enforced in your area but it’s much better than what it was 10-15 years ago when cars didn’t pass inspection with the windows tinted.

I’m getting my CT this Tuesday and will post up some pictures once I tint it. I’m probably going with 5% all around and 35% on the windshield.

Yes I tinted mine and @scohen2002 Cybertruck. Both CT’s 5% 2 front doors and rear doors in 20% to give it an even look.

12/15 order should be coming up soon, I wanted the Beast but by 12/26 when I ordered it was pushed to the end of the year. I’m too impatient and wanted my CT for the summer. Can’t wait to see your Beast!!

FWIW I had my front 4 tinted to 20% but opted not to do the windshield, but... It didn't matter I've already been pulled over for having a tinted windshield. The officer was dead sure it had some tint or film on it. I explained to him I can't prove a negative and in the end he gave me a warning for no front plate. I hope this not the sign of things to come. Houston TX it was DPS for record.

I own a shop in Puyallup, WA and tinted hand full of Cybertrucks so far. Most were 15% front two and 50% rear windows. They looks very good.

I am getting my own Cybertruck in 2 days and @XQUIZIT 5% looks very good too.

Decisions, decisions...

I’m going with 5% front maybe 30% back and 55% windshield. 55% hopefully will be enough for not letting the people giving me the bird see that I saw them ?
