Hey everyone,
I am planning on buying a Cybertruck soon. I am located in the bay area but I commute to university in Berkeley (you can prob guess which one), I was hoping to buy a cybertruck but the news about vandalizing Cybertrucks have been worrying me lately. Especially in Berkeley where its very left wing and probably hates Elon way more now and the cybertruck. Is this a cause of concern? I really wanted to buy it!
In a way I fell sorry for ya, but in another, I don't. Just about all places have pro's and con's to living there. If you live in Florida, you have to worry about hurricanes, if you life in Michigan you have to worry about extreme cold. If you live in Berkley, CA, you have to worry about hateful commies that may try to inflict damage to your property. But each place has many benefits. You have to weigh the pro's and con's and decide if its worth it for you.

I will say, like many others, that Sentry mode may help you figure out who damaged your vehicle, but its my understanding that in in CA, district attorney's won't prosecute unless the damage is substantial. IDK. Also, they could wear a covid mask, then sentry won't be much help at all.

I'm in agreement with another poster that mentioned using another car. If you can afford a CT, you can afford a beater car.

One thing is for certain though, you will absolutely love your CT, it is so awesome to drive and be driven by (FSD)!

Good luck,

Dan the Man from Michigan

Here in Arizona I get very little negative "feedback" on the CT. I do get the occasional one-finger-salute from a pickup driver or Subaru driver, but they're pretty rare. And, of course, the banana peel incident from last weekend.

NOTE: My wife placed the banana peel in a plastic bag and took it home to add to our garden mulch pile. :D
Mulch your enemies ?

I was born near Bezerkly and grew up in the East/ South Bay. Yeah, If you go to UC Bezerkly you should be smart enough to know where and where not to park. I wouldn’t park anywhere some ANTIFA Leftist could have access to it.

I hate how the Cybertruck has become so politicized, although this is the case for many things in the US these days. When we first got ours (a year ago), people loved it. You couldn't take a drive anywhere without talking to someone about it, or their kids going crazy over it. Fast forward to now, totally different, and it's all because of how it's become politized (left and right - I'm not taking sides here), and therefore polarizing. Here in DFW, most of my encounters are with other trucks, intentionally cutting me off, or rolling alongside to give me the bird.

It's garaged every night, and very rarely left anywhere public for too long, but we've never owned a truck/car that does this. Of course, it has its faults, every vehicle does, but in the scheme of things, it's progressing technology.

I can totally see how people are being put off from purchasing it, I get asked about this sort of thing all the time. It's not even a Tesla thing, it's very much a Cybertruck thing.

I'm in Denver, and the "hate" is pretty severe here, but has reduced greatly from 8 months ago, so I think it will be a thing of the past, soon.

I've had it all! Fingers disapproving head shakes, people yelling their hate and dislike. But the worst was road ragers on two occasions trying to ram my Cybertruck. Of course I just took off and got miles down the road from them, but one of the occasions, the guy was able to still stalk me miles down wind, and found my Cybertruck parked at a Taco Bell! I was just about to come out the door, when he ripped the door open yelling at me with a finger coming at my face! He was kinda a big overwait fella, but not as muscular and fit as me, so instinctually I grabbed his arm coming at my face and threw it to his side, put my fists up and he cowarded and starting backing out of the Taco Bell and retreated to his vehicle, all while promising to find my Cybertruck and mess it up. I let him know if he was a real man, he would just do it now, he took off!

So get the Cybertruck, but also get some pepper gel or carry or something, no matter where you are!
