Got my FS AWD a couple of weeks ago. I sent in servicing request for a couple of cosmetics, rattling noises, and missing accessories. Based on the online pictures when purchasing the truck, I was expecting it to come with the Alcantara suede dash. I was a bit surprised when it didn't, but I wasn't upset. The perforated dash looked pretty nice as well. I decided to include that it was missing in the the service description as well, figured I wouldn't lose anything. The service team messaged back saying only a select few AWD FS models came with the suede dash and mine wasn't one of them. Ok no problem, I moved on.
I just dropped off my truck for the the scheduled service a couple of days ago. The service team was great. Addressed all my concerns and assured me everything will be taken cared of. I got put into a Model X loaner and I was on my merry way. Today I get a message to approve my cost estimate. Weird, I already approved it but whatever. I go into the app to approve and it's a completely different cost estimate. It's to replace the dash! It says the following:
Concern: Customer states truck did not come with suede dash pad.
Correction: NVH Pad - Dash - Remove and Replace
Instrument Panel - Top Pad Assembly - Suede (1819654-02-E)
Cost Amount: $0
So my question to you all is would you go through with the replacement? I've grown accustomed to the look of the perforated dash look. I'm sure it's probably easier to clean as well. I've never seen the actual suede dash in person, so any insight would help! FYI I'm Scheduled for Mid-August for this service, so got some time to decide.
