Original order was on release day and it was for the single motor as I really don’t drive much to need the dual however when invited for the foundation I was like “nope not paying a extra 20k!” well that lasted A month then said F it no one knows when or if the single motor or others that are non foundations will even be available and wanted it before I see them every 100 feet!! No regrets, like it more everyday! I do wish they would stop selling the foundations now though so they Actualy mean something!!
regarding the comments about the beast. I like it but see no need for all that and in no way feel less then ?

It's not dumb. Getting a beast at a 20k markup is like getting a truck and a sports car at the same time. My Beast accelerates like a 911, is as comfortable as a Cadillac and has the utility of a truck. Its like having everything rolled into one. I'm excited for FSD and our families first road trip.
No hate but do you really need to accelerate like a 911? ? I got dual motor and kept my M3 for the sporty car in the stable

Beginning of the year.

Husband wanted a truck with a 4x6’ bed.
I wanted a Lotus Emira.

Configuration email came the beginning of March.

We bought a Beast. We both got everything we wanted and more and saved over $100k.

I originally ordered the Tri Motor cyberbeast back in 2019, and was invited to do the Foundation Series (as everyone else has been).
I up until now had decided to pass.
After recent frustrations with my Lightning I've decided to sell it. (carvana picks it up tomorrow)

My plan (and i've already placed the order) was to get the Cyberbeast as originally planned. I will be making a down payment of about $105,000.00 so financing will just be for that last little bit.

I had done my research, and I chose to go with the beast Foundation because I felt the value per dollar was more worth it because of the $4,000 Powershare install credit. (Which I now know it no longer includes..) and the Lightbar. (But a lightbar isnt worth 20k... lol)

So discouraged, but still pretty decided i was going with the beast...
I watched Kyle Connor's 2 hour 15k Mile review on his Cyberbeast. He made multiple mentions that hed suggest getting the AWD instead.
He pointed out that the AWD is mainly RWD with front motor assist, Where the beast is mainly FWD with rear motors assist. I completely understand this, I am a huge fan of RWD cars over FWD.
Another Benefit over AWD is I could pay cash for it, and have no loan.. Which is a pretty big plus for me.

Now im second guessing... So I wanted to ask:

TLDR: If you bought the AWD, Do you regret it and wish you had gone Cyberbeast?
OR: If you bought the Cyberbeast, do you regret it and wish you had one AWD?
I've had the duel motor grey interior and AS tires. No regrets. I get excited just talking about it.

Zero regrets from buying a Beast. I have not driven an AWD though. I do love the instant acceleration and speed from the beast but its not needed, its a bonus. The powershare install is worth it to me. The light bar is a bonus. So if those are not on the table and you don't want the speed, get AWD. If you like the speed then get a beast(light bar is a bonus).

Beast in off road- Baja mode with all the power to the rear motors should get your rear wheel drive rocks off.

Got the beast, no regrets. The thing rides like a Mercedes s550 and runs like a hellcat.
Plus, less beasts may or may not mean it holds its value better. Who knows, but at least there is a chance.

Fun fact, the AWD is actually faster than the Emira in 0-60 and the 1/4 Mile. Having owned an Elise once upon a time, I suspect the driving experience of the Emira is as pure as can be though. Looking forward to the upcoming Type 135!

On Topic: It really boils down to what means the most to you . . .

Do you value 5-10% more range and a true rear locking differential while still being faster than 95% of cars on the road . . . or are you willing to sacrifice range and some off-road capabilities to be faster than 99% of cars on the road.

Personally, I could care less about beating cars off the line on a public roadway in a 3.5 ton truck and I never intended to take this truck down to the drag strip so range is absolutely king for me. If the Beast had more range I'd have gotten that and if the AWD had more range but was more expensive I'd have gotten it still. As for regrets, I have none and will always choose the option with the most range as it's the best for my use cases and needs here in the mountains of Colorado.

That being said, I've also spent time piloting sponsored cars in various racing series so I've scratched that itch sufficiently and if/when it comes back again, I would much prefer to add a more competent car (296 GTB, 911 Turbo, etc.) to the mix than make sacrifices on my truck purchase for a do-it-all approach. If you have the burning urge to drop the hammer on occasion and can only swing one vehicle then by all means, go for the beast. If you have the means to build a quiver though, then choose the best arrow for each target.

I have dreamed of owning a Lotus since the 1970's. Really happy with my Beast now. It's not practical to haul much in an Emira.

if i wanted a truly ridiculous automobile, given the choice of Lotus or anything else, I think I would put in a reservation for the new Tesla Roadster.

Thanks for the insight. I just love how the Emira looks. Once I get rid of my Range Rover, I might be tempted to order one... Cyberbeast and Emira would be a good combo! I got the Cyberbeast because I originally ordered the tri motor. I just wanted the best and the extra 20k was doable. Range is not really a concern for me. I won't be towing much or anything at all. But glad its available if I need it.

My 2019 Model S Performance is mainly FWD (Permanent mag motor in front, with the induction motor in the rear). My wife's 2016 Model X has the primary induction motor in the front, smaller motor in rear. So they are mostly FWD vehicles, and because of that, there is an annoying shudder that you feel with moderate acceleration that doesn't require the rear motor. The dual motor CT, Model Y, and Model 3 are primary RWD, and are super smooth with no shudder ever. I would not get the Beast for this very reason. I can't stand the front wheel drive shudder.

Have you ever driven a beast? Mine doesn’t shudder ever.

resale on my Model S Plaid, traded in for Cybertruck, suggests this is highly unlikely - and that had 1,020hp and 1,050lb-ft of torque. Beast who?
