I have been looking at traditional pop up campers. Camping World had a couple for a pretty good online price but they upped the price by 50% when I got there after all their fees. They were fixer uppers too. Long story short not happy with them after driving 2.5 hours each way.

I randomly came across the Trailmanor brand online after I got home. I like the idea of the hard shell especially if we go into bear country. If I still had an ICE vehicle I would go with the traditional non pop-up but wanted to maximize range. A normal pop up would probably get better range but this is a good compromise. I will add more information as we take it on trips. This is a 2720. So it’s about 27’ popped out and 20’ popped in. Plus if you have the swivel hitch it goes down to 18’. So you can fit it in a garage. Also the quality of this 2005 seems to be better than the 2019 and 2022 canvas pop up campers I viewed. These could have been abused but just sharing my brief experience.

On the way home (about 40 miles) it was 90% 65-70mph and 10% around 50mph and it showed 600wh/mi. This was flat and about 82°. So pretty ideal conditions.

100% range 205 miles
80% range 164 miles.

Still sucks compared to diesels like I’m used to but we would have our dogs anyway so stopping every 2-2.5 hours is about right.

That's good for the speed. I have a 20ft Airstream Base Camp which is tall and taller than the normal Airstreams and get about 160 miles at 100% charge. Ave burn 800wh/m flat. I normally get 460wh/m without a trailer at 65/70 so youre doing great towing. I noticed the sweet spot was 60mph towing. Towed this camper from CA Bay Area to Tillamook OR and back and got some good data.

We got what we paid for. 123kw battery saves money, weight and charge times. Just need to charge more often when towing. I too like the breaks in between those 2.5hrs of driving.

Looks great! This is our first camper. If we love it and keep going I would definitely go Airstream in the future. Love the look, especially next to the CT. Also just a very well built product.

Dang! That is crazy. The people we bought this from said it happened to their mother. Got in their A frame pop up and then got into their tow vehicle and both were trashed.

I wanted to get a pop up to save mileage and it looks like it works for you but the wife wanted the Airstream. Happy Wife, Happy Life?

That is a great looking combination. I'm sure a very smooth ride to tow.

Thanks for sharing. If you happen to know or have the weight of the TrailManor camper that could be useful also. While there are a lot of various weights towed with different results, I often find some consistency when evaluating wh/mi/weight. I've also found some consistency in cost per mile per a given weight driven and/or towed as well.

Thanks for the information... Does FSD work while towing? If not have people come up with a hack to get FSD to work?

The only hack I know is don’t plug in the trailer lights to the truck trailer port. Plug the lights into something else like the onboard trailer battery, then use an accelerometer switch for the brake lights.

I like the hard shell pop- up! I’m getting rid of my 2023 Winnebago NPF next month and am looking to go back to towing (but now with the CT). I love the airstream and the Casita and the Oliver. I even like the simplicity of the Cybertent - until someone popped the frame- that would be my luck. ?️

It weighs right around 2900lbs dry. Filled with tools supplies I’d guess 3000-3100. If you filled gray water tank and fresh water tank it would probably be around 3500lbs. I doubt I will do that unless I dry camp somewhere. I’m going to take it from FL to KY and then Montana this fall so I will share my trip data when I do so.
