Now that we have confirmation this is indeed the Cybertruck press.

  1. Demo in June so about 6-8 weeks of setup.
  2. If tear down is similar to setup, it will be ready to ship out in Late July/ early August.
  3. If they ship it by air, it should be in Texas by Mid August
  4. Add 6-8 weeks for reassembly so first castings in perhaps… early October?
  5. That gives them 2+ full months to dial in the machine and still have a Jan 1st start of production.

This isn’t a projection. Just pointing out it is attainable.

I think it also puts to rest the rumors that production will start in Fall of 2023. I don’t think Tesla is going to assemble this piece and let it rust of 9 months.

Musk confirmed this is the Cybertruck Press.

So that puts to bed a lot of speculation.
First it was a going to be a 8000-Ton press, now it's a 9000-Ton...

WILL THE LIES NEVER STOP

IDRA: Elon, this is our 8000-Ton press, the Model 60!
*Elon leans over and whispers something*
IDRA: Ummm sure, we can make the Model 60 a 9000-Ton press. Why?

According to IDRA, it takes 2 weeks to disassemble and crate a completed gigapress, 4 weeks to transport, and a month to assemble.

Assuming they're going to start the process after EuroGuss, then Austin should start making test castings in September.

So

  1. EuroGuss ends June 10th
  2. Disassembly June 11th - June 28th
  3. Shipping June 29th - August 1st
  4. Assembly All of August
  5. First Casting September ~1st
  6. Testing and beta production Begins September 1st
A full month faster than my first guess I added a few buffer days

that's awesome info, good find. I was guessing Oct. 1 hard deadline on press. I am pretty sure there is other tooling going on in Texas already. The second floor access doors / platforms - at the LEAST - are providing access to get that rolling. Tooling in my opinion is also electrical roll out prep. But I think there are actual machines on site now.

I'm not in logistics so I truly do not know the answer to this question. Is it feasible to transport something this big heavy by air? I'm sure it CAN be done, it just seems.... very difficult.

Couldn't they have Starship hop over and pick it up?
