Same powder coating as this doctored photo from the other day

And I think Chinese workers as well

Coincidence ?

Not coincidence at all, that’s brushed in model Y body. I’d bet Model Y body has the same appearance before paint?

I think that is the rear gigacasting. I think that everything from the rear firewall and back other than the four bolt on upper castings are the rear gigacasting. Looks like they are bolted to the shipping frame because there is no structural battery pack installed yet.

Probably anti-corrosion coating (undercoating) combo sound deadening material?…maybe
Possible coating to keep stainless and AL away from each other to keep from getting galvanic corrosion due to dissimilar metals. ... Just my guess.

Not sure why think no midgate? looks like a large hinge area at bottom of divider and difficult to see what that part is. Think one of the prototypes at Gigatexas event did have a midgate. Multiple prototypes.
I would love a midgate; 6.5' bed + midgate would allow transport of sheets of drywall fully supported and enclosed and dry. But I think that if there was a midgate then it would not be on the body in white at this stage, just as the doors are not. I think that wall between the bed and the cab is a solid immovable wall or it wouldn't be there yet. Too bad.

I think the 'fog' is blurry because part of it is a slanted floor panel for the drivers foot maybe, and the part just above it is something in the warehouse background, the focus difference and the low res video are combining to make the edge very fuzzy. You can see that whatever it is continues into the front door gap a little.

That panel is odd looking. The scaffold thing should be identical to the one on the left but it has a panel ot sheet of what looks to be metal lying on it. And there is that one part in your circle where it juts out sharply, but that could be because there are two panels? Or an optical illusion.
Without knowing what this rigging is I can't say what the geometry is there.

But I can say the lines match perfectly with the perspective of everything else in the shot.
I'm still more inclined to blame our ignorance of the apparatus proportions than a mistake in shopping it at this point. One more angle would be killer.
Cybertruck doesn't have a floor. It supposedly gets a structural battery pack which if like model y means there should not be grey fog that extends into the distance. Also look at circled areas they are a different color and look brushed in.

What do you think of the fog for a floor inside the cabin? Or the platform that extends over the scaffold in the lower right.

You circled a random bit of the factory? They seem to be using a platform to hold the jig holding the assembly.

Those are surfaces facing opposite directions. Hence reflecting different lighting.

I see space for wing storage here:

It was never going to be deep.
Looking at the far side, that casting is on the outer side of the wheel cut-out, leaving very little space for storage.

The truck appears to be two separate sections, a front and rear. The front cab section is most likely a steel BIW to help keep the truck semi affordable and will be assembled on a conventional robotic assembly line. The rear section is what will be Giga cast from a proprietary aluminum alloy and bolted to the cab section.

The SS skin will most likely be attached to the unibody using aerospace grade structural adhesives.

The megacastings are not visible in this image, the larger one goes below the bed.

It is supposed to be stainless steel.
No one said the inside would be stainless.

It looks like the black is plastic. The rear giga casting will be white and will be underneath this black piece to hold the motors and electronics. This is not a giga casting in my opinion.

It's not about the dirt per say; it's about the dirt, dust, pea gravel, decomposed granite, leftover mulch pieces, dead animal hair, etc blowing around inside the cabin when the midgate is open.
...Then you're messy, and it's your own fault for carrying bulk cargo with midgate and vault open? ?

It is illegal to drive a pickup that has any of that blowing around, in any of the three westernmost states. Cover your load, clean your truck!

Do you also complain that it comes in when you open your windows?
