I just watched a report that the driver has been arrested for attempted murder. The authorities have probable cause that this was intentional. So... This is a feel good story where Tesla engineers are heroic designers of exceptionally safe cars.

I don’t know, I’ve driven the PCH from LA to the very north most corner of California.

I have to say the Oregon Coast is probably better per square mile, but perhaps not as good overall. I’ll have to take some time when I get my Cybertruck and compare them.

We mostly know where “San Andreas Fault” is located and those who want to avoid it can.

Tornados, hurricanes, hail storms, flooding, wildfires occur all over central, eastern, northern & southern Texas.

All I am saying is Texas is far from the safest U.S. state from natural disasters.
Texas, just like California, has many occurrences of natural disasters.

As far as climate type disasters, Texas is one of the worst.

That was the crux of the story I read.


Anyone else, the headline would have been:

Tesla's 5 star safety rating proved to be a life saver for a family of 4 who luckily survived a 250 metre fall off a cliff.

People drive off that cliff all the time (and about half survive), but...

...you pretty much have to do it intentionally or have many things go wrong. It takes more than one 'pilot error' to go over the cliff, ut a complex sequence of violating signs, leaving the road, etc.

The MSM should not even be focusing on the brand of car at all for such an accident, unless they intended to somehow propagate negative association as they're constantly trying to do to Tesla right now. This unnecessary brand focus suggests that the MSM is really not concerned about the people in the accident at all and are actually treating them as a secondary 'element' to the story.

This example may tend to highlight the fact that Tesla's are less prone to fires in high impact crashes - which is the kind of fact the MSM wants to ignore right now.

There is also the result of how well the Tesla protected the occupants in such a crash, which seems to be also something the MSM would not want to touch either. Now, I could be wrong and maybe this report is one where they were showing how safe Tesla's are to be in, but I seriously doubt that at this point.

The MSM has thrown integrity out the window so much, that I've not even glanced at anything from them in recent years so of course I didn't look at this particular report either.

Not sure why you think the media hates Tesla, and would only publish articles against Tesla. The problem with the media is that it works in a capitalist system. They need to get people to read their articles to make money. So they are encouraged to write articles people want to click on. I think any article that includes "Tesla" good or bad, will create clicks. Bad articles might generate more clicks than good ones because humans are strange that way, but I think an article titled "Tesla saves lives of 4 people" would still get more clicks than "Car falls off cliff, everyone survived"

I would argue your bias against the media is worse than the perceived bias you convey the media has. If I followed your example of not listening to them because they aren't saying what I want them to say, I would ignore you. But I won't because I welcome information from all angles.

I suggest you listen to the media, and just keep in mind one of their main goals is to make money. And use that info. when you base your own opinion.
