Apparently it goes into production in 2024 and they show the actual shipping truck “In a few months”? Why bother with a concept if you have a shipping truck that close?

Not the same.

Shipping Cybertruck will have everything the launch version had, with some small variances. We have a good idea of what the range will be of the final truck, what the towing capacity and cargo capacity will be. We also have a very good idea of acceleration.

What do we know about the Ram which will ship after watching this executive spew buzz-words for 30 minutes? Are you sure the slide through storage is going to make it to final? What about the suicide doors? And the chromatic glass? Cargo capacity? Range?

If the Cybertruck ships and it has a cargo capacity of only 1200 pounds, you can bet people will complain. If this does (which seems likely), there is no room to complain because you just saw a truck-like thing with no specs.

Tesla has a pretty good track record of hitting their launch specs. Ram hasn‘t presented any and has shown a truck with features I doubt will ship.

This is a lot closer to the real truck (to be revealed in april) than you realize. I am working on a Charger project with Jeep and some of their engineers for this are overlapping.
I think you're right. Other automakers have been much further along when they announce their EV trucks compared to Tesla and the Cybertruck. While I don't prefer the suicide doors, this isn't ugly like the Cybertruck. It also looks like it will be a much more refined (and expensive) truck than the Cybertruck. If you didn't order the night of the Cybertruck unveiling you probable have a good chance of getting this before the Cybertruck as well. With an order around #27,000 I'm holding firm as I doubt this will come sooner for me. Plus the likely cost will probable be hard for me to swallow for any vehicle purchase.

Ram will ship a truck.

It will likely look like vaguely this.

How much else the two share in common is a giant mystery.

You tell me how many of these features make it to the final:
  • Passthru that goes all the way into the frunk
  • 3 rows of sliding seats
  • Shadow Mode
  • Nano Stone
  • Polychromatic Glass
  • Wireless charging
  • Inductive Robot Charger
  • 4 wheel steering up to 15 degrees of articulation
  • Adjustable air suspension
  • How long will the bed be (This looks like about 5 foot)
What are the real features and what is fantasy?

You want to nit pick over the fact that the Cybertruck’s specs are going to shift a bit, but fundamentally we’ve seen the truck. The prototypes have echoed the final. No bullshit, no nanostone whatever, no polychromatic glass you might or might not see in the end.

Do you really think there will be a robotic charger? :ROFLMAO:

The purpose of this was get you to fantasize. Don't get caught up on how real it is. Just enjoy the fantasy. It looks like you can remove all the seats, throw them in the back and sleep in there.

I would love this. When you go camping you could put all 6 seats in the back and sleep on the floor with camp mode on. Like a regular hotel room.

I'd put good money on the final truck looking literally nothing like this.

I have zero faith in Ram releasing a truck that even vaguely resembles this truck. This has a whole bunch of concept fairydust going on.

2024? This truck. No. But oh, they're going to show the production version in April... But it'll look the same. Sure.
