If the CT has hard points up front to attach a Brush Bumper with a Reese hitch and a rear hitch the rack could be removable and attach front and back.
Some stabilization legs that would sit on the top (with pads to protect the stainless steel from scratching) would keep things from moving around.
I have a Ranch Hand brush bumper on the Diesel Pig to protect it from the suicidal deer around here and I'd love to have one on the CT.
I have spoken to the design engineer at Ranch Hand and he agreed that it was a huge potential market. They are located near Austin so maybe they will get a loaner from Tesla to use in designing one.
Having a hitch mount up front also allows a winch to be installed when needed. It gives the ability to winch from either end without having it permanently installed.

Yes, I agree. I have a hitch receiver front and back for my winch. I have a non-profit and go around Hawaii Island dragging massive piles of commercial fishing tackle off the coastline. I have been loading it into my trailer and I have a receiver mounted on the tongue to drag the nets into it. Undoubtedly, I'll have to weld up something for the Cybertruck, so that I can put the winch in the forward part of the bed and drag the nets into truck. No more using my trailer. I can weld a receiver onto the lumber rack! Oh, and I was so excited when Elon pulled out the ramp tailgate. OMG, GENIUS! Now I'll be able to just drag the nets right off the beach, up the cliffs and straight into the truck, drive to the landfill and dump them. Too bad the Cybertruck won't have a dumping bed. LOL Unloading is tricky. I made a boom with a snatch block on the end to reverse pull the nets out of the bed. I used a 16' 4X4 and it snapped in half, that's how much these nets weigh. I need to think about this some more. I asked the bulldozer operator if I could tie the load to his machine; nope.

I'm glad to hear that there's an optional brush guard for the front. No deer to hit around here, but I do a lot of off road driving through thick brush.

Was looking for attachment points in the investor day video and found these little slits located directly above the B and C pillars. Are these they?
I couldn't find anything farther back.

It's about 20 seconds into the video, you'll need to embiggen to see the slits.

There are two more further back in the vault surround on top of the sails (about 3:30 into the video), shown here:

So where in previous prototypes there were three attachment points on each side, now it looks like there are four.

This gives the option of a rack only over the vault area, which some were going to want, for like campers and more aero or convenient storage.

Ah, i was thinking the square near the back was another button for activating the vault door. Didn't see the square further up. They make the little slits up by the glass seem extra narrow, and I'm still not sure the slits are really meant to be attachment points.

I'd like to see how a CT roof rack might be designed.

They are rack mounts I'm sure.

What gets me is how they attach onto the car.

They could 'click in', but to remove it you would either have an outside lock to release, or access the locking mechanism from inside the vehicle.

Yday I looked closely at the bed, and could see no panels to these points. Of course, it is beta, BUT, just maybe we have side sails to get to these.

Most lumber racks for trucks that I’ve used mount to the holes in the top of the sidewalls and not roof mounts.

But since nobody makes lumber racks for Cybertrucks none of us own, I can’t say about future ones.

I would assume a Cybertruck lumber rack would be similar to these but with a sloped bottom to match the vault slope.

Roof racks are mostly for bike racks (a pain in the ass, don’t bother), ski racks, or roof top tents that sit on your roof destroying your vehicles efficiency.

If anyone is wondering why traditional truck racks don't mount in the cab, where the X is in this photo. It's because traditional trucks have a separate bed and cab, and they flex differently from each other. That is one of the huge differences between the Cybertruck and all other trucks. The Cybertruck is one solid body. My son is a student in Toyota technician school, and he says this could be a problem for the Cybertruck. We have lots of interesting discussions.
