This is what Ogre and I were referring to

Someone on Twitter suggested that Tesla would have a 4/20 event a while back… I don’t know if it was based on anything aside from Musk-numerology or some kind of insight.

My assumption was that they were referring to the earnings event.

Or like me, looked at their calendar incorrectly the first time...

I'm hoping there will be some CyberTruck updates on 4/19, lord knows there are a ton of folks sitting on pins and needles waiting for some.

With the Model Y, they announced start of production on the earnings call prior. I think we have a strong chance Tesla will announce Cybertruck production is starting sometime in Q2. I doubt they will have more detail than that unless it’s actually started by the time of the call which seems unlikely.

The more he opens his mouth, the more I fear this whole thing is getting overhyped and out of budget.

here’s something I strangely don’t know but when does Tesla start their model year?
if Ct happens before that date will there be a handful of super rare 2023s then 2024s for everyone that’s not pretending to be an expert on YouTube?

Tesla doesn't generally deliver to people based upon who they are if they're not an employee of a Musk-owned company.

The funny thing about this is most of the influencers will have made arrangements to places an order immediately on order opening regardless. Very likely thought ahead and had an account set up, signed in, and either themselves pulled the trigger, or had a friend/ spouse do it the instant orders open.

These guys have tons of incentive to get their trucks first. People like me who thought about it, had to set up an account, and maybe didn’t have the wallet ready didn’t stand a chance. (Actually I think they took Apple Pay and that last bit was super quick).

Not a complaint. But when the influencers start rolling up in their Cybertrucks… people will complaint, but I don’t think there is a ton of merit to that. Most influencers are certain to be day 1/ minute 1 buyers. For many, Tesla pays their bills, getting the truck quick is critical.

i didn’t say that but they certainly invited a bunch of them to the announcement. All my orders went In during the first 48 hrs just like any YouTuber’s did as well BUT then again, I own “a few“ shares and I’ve made Tesla a lot of money putting in batteries yet strangely enough, i didn’t get invited to come decked out in apocalypse gear or as a father/son duo best known for wrongly installing a car charger or sitting behind a table reading off news.

if there is a 23 model year CT, I’d bet joe Rogan will have one

Delivering vehicles is different than hosting an event that they need to build buzz imo.

I think we will see youtubers get trucks early but because they were able to place their orders first since they were there. Not because they're youtubers

I've said it before... Even if Tesla gave 500-800 celebs/influencers/friends their CTs first that would only delay delivery to regular folks by 2 days max.

I dont think celebs will eat up inventory because, unlike GM, Tesla intends to make more than 700 a year.
