If Tesla let you pay to move 1 year closer to delivery. How much would you pay?

What is the maximum you would pay to move your delivery date 1 year forward

He messaged me he's in the timeout box, alas. I'm pretty sure he'd vote zero, too, tho for his personal position.

My spouse won't let me exceed my budget. And is just plain sour on everything that reminds her of Elon right now, which is understandable. His 'maybe you should hold a tweet until tomorrow' is good advice that he keeps forgetting to follow.

I voted for $128k because I just want to experience the time travel process. The opportunity to go back to February 2023 would give me the chance to not say that thing I said to my wife on the next go around. Well worth the money.

[EDIT] I'm at trim position 2,948 in the tracker, scheduled for MAR, 2024, but being in a state that borders Texas, my proximity to GigaAustin should put me much closer to delivery than the more distant customers. I might get mine in time for Xmas!!!

Agree with you 100%. I mentioned in the bottom of the pst that I thought it would not happen and your reasons are perfect example of why.

Mostly, recent conversations have gotten me wondering what the demand for reservation resale and truck flipping. I was trying just capture what people would pay to get bumped without the negative connotations of the gray market.
Exactly - and we saw some of that 'gray market' actually with Northern Virginia Ford Dealers playing games for customers pre ordering F-150 Lightings, and once buyers 'pay' their way ahead in the queue, then other buyers would have to 'pay' to restore (keep) their original place in line. Then no one's really changed their delivery order really, except that the dealers have scammed more money. So it could get out of control very quickly:

Assuming for a moment that there was a legitimate option direct from Tesla to upgrade your timing by exactly 1 year (or for those who are less than a year to move to the first couple months).

How much would you be willing to pay and could afford to pay? Keep current interest rates in mind.

I’m sure position in the queue makes a pretty big difference here.

PS ALMOST ZERO CHANCE THIS HAPPENS. This is 100% hypothetical.
A better option would be to remove the people who are just taking a spot but will not order when they are called. Have people place a higher refundable deposit of $2000 to $5000 now and see them fall out by the thousands. Interested people would quickly move up in line! But I doubt if Elon would want to risk having those numbers reduce drastically?

I'm opposed to having to lock up several thousands of $ into a non-interest bearing and non-capital gains bearing account again. The $100 I ponied up the night of the reveal would be worth $713 today (at $#!++y post earnings stock price) had I invested it in $TSLA. $5000 at the same multiple would be over $35,000 of lost capital gains opportunity.

Now! if Tesla would allow me to put down a deposit of 30 shares of $TSLA today and credit the purchase price with whatever the share price is when my truck is ready, I'd send 'em the shares RIGHT NOW!!! (Current pre-market price $164.78) ? just to prove I'm serious.

Just saying: nobody’s ever seen @Ogre and @***** in the same room together

funnily, I’d rather pay a person the extra $ for their CT than give Tesla more $

I just respond on the survey and I’m surprised to see the results
I guess one must respect budgets, so no ding there… However, I’m shocked how many people are happy to plant down seven grand for FSD, which is not gonna be available or useful for 10 to 15 years (and let’s not even start to count with the time value of money aspect of what that is ) yet most not willing to pay $1000 to get their truck now, well I mean summer, actually end of summe, hopefully not fall ?

I rely on the stock price being higher than what it is now.

As a retiree, I travel, so it's a matter of spending 6 months somewhere else instead of on the road. I can be patient... just means the portfolio will be hopefully healthier the longer it goes.
Same retiree here. Hopefully the stocks would rebound when full production starts so I can determine whether to upgrade to tri or stay. However, dual is not good enough for 300 mile range where I live. Range Anxiety makes it not worth it.

By the middle of next year, we would have hopefully weathered the storm.

Whilst this one is yet to fully unfold, I expect it to pass, and like magic, the world will go on.

By the middle of next year, we will be tracking 3 million cars, CT will be in production. 'Model' 2 unveiled. Lathrop, Shanghai blazing out 70 Billion gross. More megapack factories announced. Arriba Arriba. FSD on the cusp if not already live.

We are the converted... Just need time and space, and all will be very very very good.

As someone who's been shadow-banned myself, it's frustrating but it, too, will pass.

What if we had a 100% adoption rate to move up in the registration line 1 year each?
In a nutshell why this is hypothetical. For example me moving up 1 year puts me in a truck tomorrow!

In a way this reminds me of that twilight zone episode where the guy gets a box with a button. He can press the button and get a million dollars. But someone he doesn’t know will die.

Inevitably leads to the question of whether people would push a button to kill A random stranger to get their Cybertruck tomorrow.
