I seen a u-tube video from NewVehicleMedia . here is the u-tube link: that stated that Elon has changed the Cybertruck Stainless exterior to Aluminum. How true is this, I have not heard anything about this and cannot find anything that collaborates this on the web.
This could change everything. I am one of the first in the area to receive my CT. I am not sure I want it if Elon is changing it to an Aluminum shell.
Makes no sense. This would be a huge mistake on Elon's part. The indestructible exterior is the best selling point.
I fear it may be true since Elon is hiring engineers for a paint shop to be installed in Austin. Why paint stainless? but if aluminum, then would need to paint it.
What have you heard? What do you think?

No way, BS

The entire reason for the stainless steel outer shell is its strength (as it is structural). If people are going to make up rumours, they should at leas have logic if not credibility. (BTW, Structural != exoskeleton)

Tesla‘s most recent Cybertruck public appearance says otherwise. Don’t read into FUD.

I predict the 3mm thickness has been scrapped due to added weight and cost. Notice that the Cybertruck display sign no longer mentions a thickness.

I predict that the SS being developed has both benefited spacex and tesla in weight savings, structure and malleability .

It might not actually be 3 mil anymore but still have the same properties.

I think it’s very cool to own a pickup truck with an exterior skin that is almost identical to the Starship.

I've heard they switched to a balsawood body on frame design too.
I heard he’s changed the design to have NO cup holders as a mark to help individuals to stop driving and driving. . ?

This is what I think about the paint on the Cybertruck. There are parts of the truck that will need paint. Side mirrors if it has them, underbody components, possible bed liner and other miscellaneous parts.

I hope it doesn’t change to aluminum. I believe the giga press is specifically for stainless body parts.

and now watching the Lithium refinery ground breaking I see the fender flairs, bumpers and bottom of the truck are probably painted.

Most of the parts you mention are plastic. The fender flairs, mirrors and bed liner are all polymer materials. Paint is more of a pigment mixed into the casting.
There will be some painted parts but only tiny fraction of the vehicle. I assume most aluminum and steel parts will be painted but do not require the finish and polish that a regular exterior body needs. This is one of the huge savings in the production process for the CT.

The current ones in use are designed for aluminum however the larger ones were made to stamp stainless.
No, they only cast aluminum. The 9 Gig press is needed due to the volume of the casting. The stainless steel is used as panels on the skin of the vehicle. They may be bent to shape. They could be chemically milled or even machine milled then bent to form the exterior.

Given the structure is more model Y like than an actual exoskeleton I'd be okay with slightly thinner stainless, but aluminum would be a major downgrade.
Given that your statement is weird an uses a definition of exoskeleton unlike any prior definition, I'll suggest your logic is akin to no logic prior defined to be logical.

C'mon, what the heck did you think the motors were going to be mounted to?

(BTW, Structural != exoskeleton)
Do you know what exoskeleton means?
