ergo, ipso facto, hencetothereforth, the endo side of the exo skeleton will be filled with marshmallows, i mean foam.
move actually read that something like this will be necessary for the SS to not “sing” upon jostles and bumps, like the boingy noises made by a flexing handsaw

they too suggested structural adhered foam, not marshmallows

This video is total bs. Non of the reputable tesla websites have mentioned this- they are making it up to get clicks.

On a serious note, did Tesla ever address the weight difference between using SS vs aluminum? Seems like SS would be a lot heavier.

Search for Sandy Monro’s discussions around the Republic SeaBee airplane. Also constructed of a 3mm SS stressed skin, naysayers at the time had all the same conjectures levels at the CT

In the end, the construction of the SeaBee was not only lighter than competitors, but also required 1/10th of the labor construction time.

In short, it’s lighter because a layer of steel is all there is. In conventional designs, the exterior material may be lighter, but “behind” it are layers and layers of other structural materials, including steel, in order to achieve the necessary structural requirements. All that “stuff@ behind the skin ends up being a big heavier than just external steel, and requires a lot more labor to put together.

I’m not saying this will in fact be true of the CT, but only that it was true of the SeaBee and so concerns about the CT from the armchair are prone to meeting the same fate

I seen a u-tube video from NewVehicleMedia . here is the u-tube link: that stated that Elon has changed the Cybertruck Stainless exterior to Aluminum. How true is this, I have not heard anything about this and cannot find anything that collaborates this on the web.
This could change everything. I am one of the first in the area to receive my CT. I am not sure I want it if Elon is changing it to an Aluminum shell.
Makes no sense. This would be a huge mistake on Elon's part. The indestructible exterior is the best selling point.
I fear it may be true since Elon is hiring engineers for a paint shop to be installed in Austin. Why paint stainless? but if aluminum, then would need to paint it.
What have you heard? What do you think?
Given the structure is more model Y like than an actual exoskeleton I'd be okay with slightly thinner stainless, but aluminum would be a major downgrade.

I've done my own research, and discovered that 10lbs of aluminum is exactly the same weight as 10lbs of steel

Actually asked on Quora :

How come a pound of steel and a pound of feathers weigh the same?
