There are several issues with big tires.
A) can the average guy change it
B) will the truck follow the Tesla concept of calling for a tire change, not doing it yourself
C) are there easily identifiable hard points under the truck and a jack, and is the process user friendly
D) Rather than believing that a working man's truck should always allow him to change a tire, look at bigger trucks. Drivers never touch those tires, a service truck goes out to do the job.
I don’t carry the spare most of the time. It mainly for off-roading. If I ever do get a flat in town I’ll just have a buddy bring it to me. I’ve been driving on BFG’s for 40 years and never had a flat. I got flats on my work van all the time.

Also regarding the midgate. That the midgate rolls up into a bundle down low behind the back seat does not disallow a midgate. The roll just has to go down below floor level. Am I missing something here?
You mean other than the all out verbal wars we've been having on the topic? Not to worry, the conversation will flare up again unless we get a definitive answer from Tesla first.

Great. Also, doesn't it look like we can duct tape all kinds of things to that roll-up and away cover and have them nicely hidey-hid?

That would beat tying Granny to the roof of the station wagon.

We got better pictures and discovered that they were not slot tracks?

There was a huge discussion way back about the floor of the bed having T-slots. From some pictures it looked like they were there. From others, not so much. Some people loved them. Some people were dead set against them.

In the end, the CT bed was modified to look like it does now and what some thought were T-slots were deemed to be illusions of the camera created from some sort of non-slip striping (or some other tech) in the old bed.

It has been a while since the T-slots held measurable sway here.

I'm hoping this means you will just keep your Ford Lightning and us Cybertruck reservationists can all move up a spot in line. :p
I am selling the Lightning the day i get my Cybertruck VIN# by email!

(Although I really do love the Lightnting and am curious how much better the Cybertruck will be)

When looking at the patent file for the tonneau, it definitely looks like there is space for a spare between the “Smuggler’s Bay”/Trunk and the tonneau roll. I did a quick mock-up on my phone using white lines to establish the size of the tire and blue for the relative position of the trunk (the back of which extends to where the wheel well sticks out furthest into the bed).

Am I way off base here? In the photos, the bed clearly has seams on the left and right equal to the width of the trunk section that appear to indicate the forward portion is also removable. Why does it seem like everyone has just written this off as a possibility?

Tesla Cybertruck Cybertruck vault sub-trunk fully opened! + Tonneau cover and tailgate lowering in action! L4IZ1m2

I think Siri can now answer the question: Siri, where you can hide a dead body?

That's because Tesla hasn't said anything about any feature being abandoned, and it's just FUD (fear, uncertainty, and doubt) being fed in by people playing guess-the-disappointment.

Will they have a ramp? Well, it was on that reveal stage.

You notice they don't keep the spare under the bed, tho. You can totally put the spare on a Cybertruck where they put theirs.

-Crissa
So I should sacrifice bed space for a job site in order to have a spare tire?
