I haven't had to change a tire on a road trip in over 15 years, and I've traveled over 250K miles in that time. There is supposedly on-board compressed air. I'm not sure how often an actual spare would be needed. But if I were pulling a trailer with solar array to recharge on the Alaska highway driving from lower 48 to Fairbanks (since there's not enough supercharger coverage there yet), then I'd throw a spare in the back for that kind of trip.

It depends on what areas are traveled frequently. In sparse areas like deserts or northern states, one would be advised to put a spare in the back, so I can see where you are coming from.

I want to learn how to use a plug repair kit anyway. With the compressor, that is an "easy" fix.

Super simple. I use them all the time with my riding mower because we have 3” thorns in places. I’ve never used one on my BFG’s but I have on our old model 3.

Y’all seen the undercarriage of the CT though - I don’t see any space for even a donut under there
In the 'diaper' area but the fact the under bed storage is still a thing does make it very unlikely, bordering impossible. Which would be a shame because a spare is a lot more important than some extra storage space in a truck that already has plenty.

Wow if this truck has no place to put a spare, even a donut, that is going to be a huge miss.
Silicon Valley folks don't get flats. I bet they are going to pacify the spare tire folks with some Baja style tire rack. They must not want the vehicle to catch on commercially if there is in fact no spare.

Of course, but when you start putting huge tires on a truck it requires comprising. The new chevy ev has smaller tires than my taco, and they can’t even fit a full size spare under it. It’s a lot bigger than my taco.

My hope is a 20a outlet.
That outlet you showed is a standard NEMA 5-15 gfi. I think all the 20A outlets are single outlet not double. But is the picture actually of the outlet on the CT?

Also regarding the midgate. That the midgate rolls up into a bundle down low behind the back seat does not disallow a midgate. The roll just has to go down below floor level. Am I missing something here?

There are several issues with big tires.
A) can the average guy change it
B) will the truck follow the Tesla concept of calling for a tire change, not doing it yourself
C) are there easily identifiable hard points under the truck and a jack, and is the process user friendly
D) Rather than believing that a working man's truck should always allow him to change a tire, look at bigger trucks. Drivers never touch those tires, a service truck goes out to do the job.
