Really? I think what is confusing/throwing me off is in the photo, the wheel wells appear to be part of the "exoskeleton" (using Teslas word for it) whereas in the graphic I referenced (which I think also originally came from Tesla?), the wheel wells are clearly part of the casting attached to the structural megapack.

Yes, the wheel wells are a part of the Casting, the front and back giga castings replace over 100 different parts that would have been made to assemble the same shapes (in a traditional vehicle). What the graphic doesnt show, is that the door frames act moreso as the joining material for the front and back. With the firewalls and cross beams acting as the regidity enhancers. Then, eventually the battery pack and external panels will further reinforce that unibody/exoskeleton to the point where it is an unwavering piece of vehicular greatness.

So, with that, the question becomes this: how about these door frames?

Think of them BOTH as the inner-exoskeleton. Each side has 2 parts per side. And they are THICK. They require Hot stamping to achieve this shape because of how dense it is. Using lasers to trim the access material from the stampings to achieve the final shape.

This is no regular vehicle, that is obvious from what these photos are showing you.

This vehicle is not made for just Earth.

So... these panels, while I hope GigaTexas already has the capability, may have been stamped out at Freemont and brought down to GigaTexas for line fitment. Now, we all saw Joe Tegtmeyer's recent shots of a body on a truck at the north side of GT.

I wonder why they'd have the CT frame in a dolly at THIS stage of the build process.

Looks like they've put together the Front and Rear castings, firewall, rear bulkhead, left/right side stampings, and crossbar.

The wheel wells are casted, you can tell by all of the ribbing, they are part of a single piece giga casting that makes up the front end structure like in the image you referenced. That is then joined to the cabin structure which is made up of steel stampings, this image of the 4680 Model Y BIW should help you visualize it:

It’s definitely not the same
It most definitely is if you know what to look for. You can clearly see the stamped steel body side outer in this image.

I mean it is pretty darn close..
-the simplified graphic depicts front/rear castings with structural battery + SS skin
-picture shows front/rear castings with space for battery and skin to follow.

The only other difference is the rest of the BIW, which was not shown in the graphic for visibility..

There must be a reason why the bed bulkhead is locked in position. I would be happy enough if the back window can roll down. My kids love tongue-touching the wilderness(or freedom or the interior) when I am in the driver's seat...for kids, either tasting fresh air or Windex.

It's funny how many truck buyer have issue with mid-gate or passthrough access, I am on the other hand favor structure safety over all this option. On the plus side CT could float, That will be way better than any other gimmicky options out there.

The BIW will be traditional and made from different grades of stamped steel that are welded together. That’s what the 60 robots are for. You simply can’t stamp SS into the BIW shapes. Even you could it would not be economically feasible and would increase the MSRP.

The big game changer will be the front and rear aluminum alloy Giga castings and stainless steel exterior skin.

I am confident that designers and engineers were given a target to make sure the Cybertruck can float for a short period of time.
