Note that the front firewall has a circular hole for a steering column, but only on 1 side. No RHD models in this revision, eh?

And, I’m not agile with steer by wire, but for the same reasons that hole begs the question

perhaps with SBW the column still transverse the firewall but just into an electronic box that holds the magic elves?

Other manufacturers have implemented SBW with a physical backup and a clutch, perhaps Tesla is doing the same?

And they're gnomes actually, don't be such a racist

good point - I think would require physical backup unless they instead use electronic backup/redundancy, the latter I’ve read is a materially more expensive option

Looking at these now on my big monitor, not feeling optimistic for a roll-down rear window

I'd expect the window to be on the internal/cab side of the bulkhead. If so, it would be certain it would be behind the child seat tethers.

But in the photo below, the various relief features of the bulkhead, especially the child seat tethers, appear to leave no room behind the tethers for a channel in which the window would recede.

In theory that could leave the possibility that the window instead is installed on the bed side of the bulkhead. I suppose that would be possible, if surprising?

That said, given that behind this bulkhead on the bed side will be a second bulkhead of the bed, in between which the tonneau will retract and store, it's hard to view the below photo with 'normal construction' assumptions on what is possible back here.

And for what it's worth, there wouldn't appear yet to be any particular features back here that would make impossible/unlikely that a rear window channel could be placed here to fit the ~size of a rear window - the blue 'window' squares below are identical in size

RHD delay is good. Expected anyway.

Share price up... I'm more happy.

Is there room for a spare wheel?
To me it looks that that square cutout in the rear casting is design for a crossmember that will support the bed and could hang a spare underneath. I still have hope that they were smart enough to at least offer a spare as an option. Putting it into the bed and consuming 25%+ of the volume is no bueno

assuming the battery pack and suspension etc prohibits a spare being accessible from underneath, it leaves us looking topside in the bed floor

given where we now know that crossmember is (forward of the wheel well), and where the sub-bed storage area is (rearward of the wheel well), it makes possible that a spare could fit between the crossmember and the sub bed storage bin (since this space is the length of the wheel well, it necessarily is enough space to fit a spare)

that said, this location in the bed isn’t optimal for a spare. If you have a load in the bed and get a flat, well, now you’re unloading the bed

that said, this didn’t stop Rivian! :ROFLMAO:

a statement i had never remembered before .. sure it was there i just missed it... on the cybertruck page when talking about the vault, it says "space for your toolbox, Tire, and cyberquad"

this implies, to me at least, that there is no set spare tire storage area.

I think unloading the bed is a small price to pay for actually having the ability to carry a spare under the bed. I'd rather have one with, even if I need to unload the bed first, than not have one, and rely on roadside, if at all there is one nearby, to bring me a tyre that fits my wheel, from who knows where they have them in stock somewhere else in the country...

I do think there is enough space in the rear for a spare, but as yet I have not seen a picture of a compartment lid that would allow one to be put in. The photos of the rear underbed storage so far have obviously been to small to fit one. I'm still hopeful we get the storage space for one, that we an then add a spare too as an option. That would be ideal for Tesla and those that need it I think. A larger underbed storage also helps with putting in some water tanks etc in the rear for a camper etc.
