Don’t confuse the number “2” with having 2 options. Think of a light switch. It has 2 states, on and off., in a single switch (Bit) so a single bit represents two states, those who do and those who don’t. The confusion is as @CyberGus pointed out. computers start counting at 0, not 1, and so do programmers. It may take two bits to represent the number “2”, but those two bits can represent 4 states or options, or represent 4 numbers (0,1,2,3) a single bit represents TWO numbers (0,1), even if it doesn’t represent the number 2. This is exactly why I thought the shirt should say there are 1 types or people…how to count in binary.
