Was it worth the overall size reduction in your opinion so that it fits in a garage

......

TLDR:
All that to say, don't underestimate the level of stupidity that the thief might have. Just cause you left the doors unlocked to prevent glass breakage, doesn't mean the thief will try the doors before they go ahead and break the windows.

Not just a big city problem. Happened to my Nissan parked in apartment parking lot in Gillette, Wyoming. They broke window to steal a 1990s era brick type cell phone that in in those days all were cell carrier service locked such that report of theft caused carrier to permanently deactivate phone. I had to pay to get broken window repaired and replace phone.

The real issue for the truck market is bed length. F250 long bed is 8.5 feet; that’s important for hauling Sheetrock and plywood
Shortest f250 bed is 5.5 feet.
cybertruck, as I understand will be one length at 6 ft.
that may be a problem if youre competing for the construction market.

For a while I owned an old dilapidated car. It was an early '80s 2-door Honda Prelude with biohazard signs and lightning bolts painted on it. Had no heater core so the natural fresh air from outside used to whip through the cabin like a hurricane. Plus it had no key. Instead someone had just hot-wired it and put in a push button switch to start the car. And the doors had no locks. I bought it in this condition for about $300.

oh that’s a good point!

I’m also firmly in the camp of leaving my truck unlocked

if thieves think they can mess up my truck more than my children already do, they’re welcome to try

but a broken window is a buzz kill

the CT’s special and presumably double-the-cost glass, would also double the buzz kill …
I never lock the DeLorean. If someone wants the pennies from my ashtray, I'd rather they didn't break the window glass that isn't manufactured anymore.

I woul have answered "no" because my interests were in midgate, 6 seats and hige frunk. BUT I have answered "yes" because making it fit in a garage means you can recharge it at home. It makes a huge difference in terms of addressable market. They did choose what would sell more of them

Lol you're putting me out of a job.
Do you know how many times I've had to correct that mistake here? Your visual aids make it to easy though and avoid having pages of words to the contrary. ;)

The biggest volumetric difference is actually the body height of the overall vehicle, but this is because of the structural pack instead of a body on frame structure.
Please help my quest.. I am trying to find anyone who has used the iPhone “Measure” app to clearly measure the Cybertruck. Delighted that it Is slightly smaller so it “may” comply with our Australian Design Rules (ADR). I just want to know as I don’t trust the dimensions I’ve seen so far (too big)
Cheers

until official regularly measurements are out, just assume 227” long by 79.9” wide (absent mirrors).

that info is going to be as reliable as any iPhone measuring app

the measuring app will be unable to measure regulatory max width, as max width occurs at ~2/3 back from the front bumper, around the forward part of the rear wheel well

from an iPhone, length would also be near impossible to measure with any reliable accuracy

until official measurements are out, nothing is going to be accurate/reliable to within a couple inches

Not everyone owns multiple vehicles. I’m a one vehicle person who has a garage. It’s not a big deal for me but if it fits it will be in my garage when I’m home. JS ??‍♂

I think I may have seen a truck in a garage a few times in my life. SUVs ok. I have seen plenty in a garage. I struggle for some reason with the thought that Tesla may have made the nose stubbier in an effort to fit in a garage. I already installed a 125amp panel on the outside of my house by my driveway so the I can park it outside. Was it really worth it to you?
there should be third option: "who cares" :)
CT is still technically not a real product and nobody has it in garage or driveway. so there is nothing to compare to, or complain about.
It is a miracle that RCs are still look like announcement CT from 4 years ago and it is not vaporware and there is a chance that Tesla will actually make it as production car.

as for me - car must be in the garage

If those are the only reasons you can think of, your imagination and relatability skills are severely lacking.

For you. Please don't objectify others.
