Current low trim dual motors you can order:

R1T dual motor 270 mile - $73K
Lightning Pro 240 mile - $50K

It is a wide range. CT dual motor may have to compete more with R1T than it does with Lightning Pro since it probably will have air suspension and rear wheel steering standard.

Don't know if Silverado should be a part of conversation yet but it may have to by the time CT is out in meaningful numbers.

I don't get why so many people think the Cybertruck is going to be so much more expensive than when it was introduced. How much has the price gone up on other Teslas? Has it gone up at all? I think I paid the same for my 2023 MYLR that I paid for our 2020 MYLR... If not the same, then easily within 5% or so. Why would a 2019 Cybertruck (if you count the reveal price) cost so much more than a 2023?

I don't care what sign they put out front of traditional dealership, I'm not stopping. Dealerships eat :poop:.

I personally decided EV first then looked at my options but I take your point about Tesla not consumer deciding on pricing based on their intention. Now the question is; is Tri motor competing with that V8 or dual? 500 mile CT or 350 mile CT? Is the gas saving, break pad saving, muffler saving, tax credit, ….will all be counted in pricing to consider what is competitive?

CT Dual 350-mile

XLT is most popular trim sold but is not even middle trim in F-150 ( ICE) series. XLT is second lowest.

There are many cheaper auto trans, 4x4, SuperCrew, 5.5' bed options around with lowest around $49K and many many many more normal expensive & very popular (but not most popular) trims that max out about $85K (Platinum, Limited, King Ranch, Tremor trims). That last group did not include super special Raptor trim $110K.

If the dual motor ends up at 70k starting...I think lots of ppl will be asking for refunds.
~$60K could be the 'SWEET SPOT'
I'm not saying it's super affordable, but it is reachable, if that's what you want 'What you really really want'
I want one BAD AS!

‘Even though they are of a completely different class of vehicles with different purpose, I often compare my lowest trim Pro with the highest trim raptor just due to acceleration alone. Sometimes people like the cloth seat that comes in a lower trim but the sound system available only on higher trim. It is very rare that I find everything I want and nothing I don’t in a vehicle. Manufacturers trying to consider every trim of every competitor when they come up with their specs and pricing can get overwhelming. Looking forward to see what Tesla comes up with.

No benefit in providing details early when you’re sitting on almost $200 million in refundable reservations.
The benefit is for the prespective 2 million buyers who are trying to make plans for selling or keeping their old truck for another year or six months.
Consideration for your potential owners may not be good business anymore. However, details are needed and would be quite helpful in decision making.

Yes, beneficial for potential buyers to know, but that doesn’t benefit Tesla or their shareholders. I’d love to know basic details as well, but if Tesla comes out with, say range estimates, a lot of people will cancel their reservations, and Tesla knows this. Another reason they don’t want leaks.

price cybertruck at 70k starting and lose almost 60-70% orders and tank the stock or make a truck only 10-12% costly than what was calculated viable in 2019 and make stock go bonkers.
Over 40% of orders were for a ~$70k Cybertruck - the tri motor.

Is that the total orders, or just the orders where the buyer had the choice to pick one? I know they took all that away at some point, and if it’s 40% of all reservations, then that answers where the demand is, quite clearly. If it is of the reservations that had a choice, then it‘s not as impressive.
