... from Spotted_Model on fka Twitter

I've gotten lots of flack for the "MINDBLOWING" post I made earlier today with lots of people challenging me or saying I'm just engagement farming. In truth, although those who follow me know I sometimes post funny, sarcastic satirical humor (making fun of everything including the obsession we have with Tesla), my insider info today was completely real, heard 1st-hand from an influencer I know who was sharing what he knew (he's excited too). It told him I wouldn't reveal my source and I won't. So let me share what I'm comfortable with posting without getting anybody in trouble (note - a couple of these come from different sources I'm aggregating, and a couple of these come from putting 2 and 2 together myself based on what I've seen and heard):
  • 1. They're making about 10 Cybertrucks a day. These are obviously made with a combination of assembly line and hand-built techniques as they should be.
  • 2. Most of these trucks are being put on car carriers to be distributed not to all Tesla stores, but to a few hand-picked based on several factors (geography, demand, and visibility).
  • 3. The trucks aren't covered during transport. This helps generate so much free marketing it's worth the chance of a small rock chip etc. that can be fixed locally. These trucks are arriving at the designated SCs and are unloading behind closed doors late at night.
  • 4. A livestreamed "delivery event" will take place in Austin. But this one is different. Either during the event or right after, SCs all over the country will simultaneously deliver the 5 or 6 trucks they've been allocated.
  • 5. Who gets them? The first 5 chosen are NOT based on reservation numbers. We all know that some customers "rank" higher at Tesla than others (as they should - just like any high-end brand). Tesla has already determined the first few customers based on many factors.
  • 6. These first builds are all the same high-end configuration. You've seen pics and videos of these trucks on the road. Potential receivers were all contacted already asking if they'd like to take delivery.
  • 7. Customers have NOT been asked yet to sign an NDA yet. It's not clear whether or not they will, covering things like build issues or video restrictions.
  • 8. They've also not been given the final build price, but they've been told it'll be mid to high 70s.
  • 9. They've also been told deliveries will occur in the next 3-4 weeks and to begin making preparations.
  • 10. And I'm making this assumption myself - all trucks delivered will be silver LOL.
Like I said, I believe my sources here. I think the info is mostly correct. And we'll see in a few weeks. If I'm wrong, I'll tell you I'm wrong. But I have a good feeling about the authenticity. I won't share screen shots or names but trust it was a convo. Thanks for reading!

That's a lot more than 140 characters! Would be cool if it happen, and would be a good way to spread the word too.. But why haven't we seen these on highways all over the nation then? Maybe we will soon?

Who is this guy? Is he a Tesla employee? Where is he getting his intel/insight? He talks about his "authentic sources." However, I only believe about half of what he says.

well if we do the math, even 4 weeks out. thats 28 more days. lets say 40 of the vehicles so far are going for this delivery purpose. Thats another 280 vehicles at 10 per day. so 320 total. Divide by 5 and thats 64 SCs. Really that probably only covers 8 key states. And we have seen them on trucks in a handful of states already. CA has just under half of the EV sales nationally and I wouldn't be surprised if 20 of those SCs were in CA alone. Obviously Texas, New York, Florida, New Jersey, Washington. Makes sense to sell first where there is high demand.

I love the idea. Would be a huge marketing win across the country. Also get these incredible trucks into many towns and city's to be seen rather then concentrated in the TX CA market only.

Edit: If Tesla marketing team is monitoring the site, if selected I will drive through the highest income, most insecure community's in my region to drive sales.

None of it sounds like too much of a stretch to believe. If tri motor is first and in mid 70s, dual may make it to affordable territory but it may require longer wait. We should know soon, what is true.

I will be just trilled if I catch one of them in a parking lot near me regardless of what else is true or not.

Except Tesla doesn't need to advertise to the EV crowd... they need to advertise in truck country.

I have conflicting thoughts and feelings about it, if it's true. Great from an advertising point of view, being at all those SC's. But on the other hand, why would they need to do that? Over 2 million pre-orders, do they need to do that? Are they worried about conversion rate? If it's under 50%, that's still 1 million. Probably 3 years worth. I just don't see the point of creating more hype.

Wouldn't we have someone on this forum or on twitter (err. X) screaming from the top of their lungs they they were contacted about receiving their CT?

Not if they want to continue being in the good graces of Tesla, lol. And probably, not if they want the truck.

Not true at all. Many EV drivers are driving EVs for fuel cost savings and have not purchased very useful utility vehicles such as trucks due to poor fuel performance, but the CT is going to change that and hopefully be more affordable that some of the other EV truck options out there. Many Tesla owners will sell their current sedans and buy the CT. If you are talking about volume of truck sales, the typical country "truck" states are tiny in comparison to the volume of trucks sold in California. Those states may have higher percentage of trucks per capita, but that's not generally what sellers are looking for. They are looking for where they will be able to make volume sales. Also, many of those "truck" states are very resitant to EVs and have created a difficult environment to sell in. Here is a link to the statistics Link.

I get your point. I mean, 1 in 8 people live in California but they don't have 1/8 of all truck sales. Texas has almost as many trucks as California even though the populations don't match. I still feel Tesla will spread them out for advertising. People will see it and think about Tesla and maybe go online and see what else Tesla does.

Mid to high 70s, original planned tri-motor 500 mile range price was $69.9k. I am expecting this configuration would be $79k now to be eligible for tax credit. But I guess the range won't hit 500 miles.

If it is dual motor 300 mile config, then it is much higher than original $50k price tag.

You are probably right. We shall see. I just dumped all my savings into an investment property so it may be a wait for interest rates to drop until I get one, which stinks because I have a day one reservation. We will see if I can pull some strings. I have literally been waiting for the CT to buy another vehicle since 2019.
