Why! Why/how would that happen? Even if for some reason they wanted to, that is impossible. Cybertruck will NEVER use 2170 or 18650 cells, its simply not compatible: both pack AND cells need to be structural.Not if they expect Cybertruck ramp to outpace 4680 ramp, which I think is likely.
Why would they want CT to outpace cell production, when they know cell production is the limiting factor [its going to happen by default], and they already have uses for extra cells? Seems like something they want to avoid. They want the ramp to match cell production, or be slightly behind, and can easially make it so. I don't understand this ramp obsession... Ya'll blinded by it, can't see reason. Only explanation is dual motor is most popular, and you guys all ordered one and want your truck soon. More is not always better
