Excellent! So, can we count on you to cancel your resevation?

The Ford cockpit just looks ridiculous and oozes Detroit fake luxury. It even has buttons and switches on the kneeboard! That's the same problem my F-150 from 13 years ago has! And the plastics Ford used are so cheap looking my wife still comments on how poorly they wear and how cheap it looks.
It will need to have physical buttons for drive, neutral and reverse as well as hazards as required. The S has them, just slightly hidden. I'm actually quite interested in where they place them in the Cybertruck.
Is there a requirement for physical controls for drive? I truly hope it has physical controls but I haven’t seen evidence of that in any of the pictures.

Sure, but this is not expected to be a low-end vehicle. Just remember the prototype cargo bed, it was just gorgeous (probably too much and not work-oriented!).
This picture is from a low-end truck and some details look better designed/assembled.

Let's see the final product, finished. I only expect to have mine in 2025! By then lots of things were corrected and improved.
It’s not low end due to it being an EV, which currently disqualifies it from that category. But in terms of EVs, everything we have seen points to it being made to be affordable. The Gigapress chassis, the basic interior, the dull materials. There are things that add cost, as mentioned, but I would still be surprised if the dual goes into Rivian price range. If that happens I don’t see the Cybertruck becoming a hit product and making a big dent in the truck market, and I have a feeling Tesla wants to apply Franz’s hammer to the competition — EV or not.

You guys are lucky.

Your base trim Model Y's range from 47,000 to 54,000. Ours from 65,000 to 91,000.

Hopefully we won't see such a discrepancy with the Cybertruck.

The upper part of the dashboard is simple but looks ok. The bottom just looks low quality and the glove box looks just miserable.
The seat's support looks worse than a farm tractor!
The armrest again!
Footrest!
The high that is the break! Tractor!!

I have reservation and eventually it will be my first EV, if the price will be near what was initially announced.
This was never expected to be a heavy duty truck, but this view is just disgusting comparing with the trucks that are in the market.

Except that F-150 interior is objectively cheaper in terms of materials being used.

That I don't know!
What I see is that the look of the bottom dash and the glovebox just looks cheap. Any care on the design and assembly. That or an OSB sheet would be the same! Being that one would be a "wooded" one!! :):):)
Probably it was designed and assembled by the original Top Gear crew!

I hadn't noticed before, but take a look at the riser that the front seats are mounted to: It appears that there is significant amount of space available between the floor and the seat. This will be nice when taking the CT roadtripping and loading it to the gills. It should also result in the driver being boosted high enough to see clearly out of the windshield (and down the stubby hood/frunk). I wonder what the vertical travel distance will be for the front seats to allow adjustment for the driver/passenger height?

Let us not forget, without the PRND stalk, the software looks at where you are, and will assume what gear you want. In your garage or driveway, it's going to look and give you R by default. Pulling away from a curb, you're likely to get D as your first choice. But when it's not sure/correct, I think you will quickly adapt to a quick swipe for your mode selection. I'm personally quite interested in the turn signals on the Yeel, I think there might be advantages to it being there, once you adapt.

Took my wifes MY in for service and they gave me a MS to drive. I enjoyed the drive selection and thought it makes perfect sense.

The turn indicators in theory and in most situations was fine until the wheel was not in its normal position and I needed to use it. It was very frustrating trying to find it as I was looking at the road/traffic. I am sure those that have had weeks and or months using it adapt but for that day I was not a fan.

At the end of the day I will have the CT for a long time and have faith it will be driving itself and the need for me to be involved will be minimal

Still seems unreal that the driver will never see his own hood no matter how hard he tries unless he sticks his head out the window! LOL

In the past I thought it may have been an accessory to hold for 3rd party equipment i.e. Emergency services/Police etc.

Whilst it may still be for that purpose, perhaps it is also a permanent cover.

footrest for middle seat.
y’all need to start adding some “/s” to these posts or unsuspecting noobs gonna get silly ideas

the driver will see almost exactly the same amount of “hood” as I can see in my Lightning

only difference is that my Lightning’s hood is on the outside of the windshield

The first thing that caught my eyes was the door hinges. Look awful small and only a single bolt attachment to the door. Unless the door has a matching adjustable hinge plate, not going to be much room for adjustment. Heck all modern cabinet doors have European adjustable hinges that also allow for quick release. Great for when I need to crawl up in the cabinets as a plumber.

But looking at the 2 hinges look awful basic and relative lightweight for a heavy truck door and stainless panel. Am I wrong or just overthinking from my perspective.
