made matrix approved for any OEM in the US yet?

I know the Lightning has it buried in its code, but not enabled, for reason of pending US approval - at least last I checked

would love that tech
I wonder how focused can it be. If it could project an SOS on a mountain when your off road adventure goes sideway.

sigh... No, you are probably right. I was hoping they had figured out how to make the blade light work as headlights but it seems those lower two are, indeed, the headlights.
It's bizarre this idea ever came to be. They never had to "figure out" how to make them work as headlights. They are the headlights, always have been. Someone on the form made the suggestion at some point that the lower lights would actually function on as the headlights and the bar would be decorative. That makes no sense, and was suggested when viewing early prototypes that were only seen in the day. But yet, it took on a life.

All Cybertrucks, from the prototype to now, have had the light bar as the headlights. What any night video from reveal night to now. It was never a problem, and never changed.

The lightbar is the headlights, the fog lights are the lower lights. You do not place fog lights high up, that's the whole point of them, as to not have to shine through fog. Watch the video, the bar is the main source of light. The two extreme ends of the bar are also thicker, and brighter - the true headlights while the center is more decorative.

Sorry, but you are incorrect

The headlights are the two lower lights between bumper and hood front

the light bar at top of hood is only DRL

anyone suggesting otherwise is mistaken

Willing to let you name the bet on this, and I pre-call

PS: nobody claimed the fog lights are up high, only that the two lower lights are not fog lights, and that the DRL is neither fog lights nor head lights

Read the headline and thought we were going to get lucky and get the "light bar" that was on the concept at the top of the windshield..... bummer.

I don't really see what the difference is. In this video both the light bar and the headlights are fairly bright, from an aesthetic standpoint. And in my Model Y whenever I'm driving the DRL and headlights are on. It's only the fog lights that get turned off sometimes.

Can you show a clip of the bottom as headlights? No, you can’t . Your claim is baseless.

first, my claim is “based.” (And again, I’ve invited your bet - though honestly I’d never collect because it would be tantamount to Sterling)

second, I don’t even understand the meaning of “Can you show a clip of the bottom as headlights?”

because, I guess, here:

Tesla Cybertruck DRL, headlights, fog lights, sidemarkers, tail light bar ON in night time video (on Tundra Cybertruck leaving supercharger) 1663B454-BD75-4E03-9CB3-7DCF193CE6D3

That image is proving my point. They are more dim than the upper headlights, and illuminating down as fog lights do. I'm not sure why you're confused by this.

they updated the truck in a few ways since 2019
They haven't changed the lightbar. Someone made the suggestion long before we saw a newer prototype at night, and for some reason it has stuck like peanut butter on the top of your mouth, despite there being no nighttime driving showing a change. The lower lights are still smaller, still fog lights, and all of the lighting works like every other Tesla. As I said, you have no images or video that show otherwise, as they don't exist. You're just repeating this bizarre suggestion from years ago. It makes no sense, as having the headlights lower means they have to be more upward angled to illuminate the road at distance, and thus shining in drivers' eyes.

I’m not here propagating some ancient lore

I am, for independent reasons, here confirming for you

honestly, even without that, you should be able to look at the headlight unit, compared to the opaque, driving light bar, as well as all the videos we’ve seen, and put two and two together yourself.

if you want a breadcrumb, note that the hood light bar appears bright, because its opaque shield is disseminating light in all directions, including towards the camera; meanwhile, unless you’re directly in front of the beam of the headlights, they aren’t glaring at the camera by design. That’s what allows headlights not to blind oncoming traffic.

but even absent that, I am separately here telling you.

I don’t know what photographic or video proof you need, as you’re also never find a picture of a Ford lightning driving at night with its DRL bar, turned off
