A well incorporated ramp in conjunction with the "kneeling" feature would be f'n awesome! Absent that and given the inability to reach over the sides due to the sails, we will need an easy way to climb into and out of the bed.

All trust in Elon.

The one they had at the unveiling fit into the tailgate. It was in three sections. Why do you think that it would no longer fit into the current tailgate? The original looked like it was solid. They could have changed it to semi solid and still kept it in 3 sections to reduce the weight.
Oh!!! How about an oobleck ramp that pours out of the tailgate but when you take a run at it with the quad, it solidifies and lets you drive up into the bed.

I expect it will be there, though possibly as an option. Trick tailgates are pretty popular among trucks, and usually add a few grand to the purchase price.

Wouldn't most ramps put the weight on the tailgate? How else would they connect? I beg ignorance here since the only ramps I have used I either made or were for the dog and rested on the back of my Lexus RX and my MYLR.

Could have used a ramp today, I had to lift a refrigerator into the back of my pickup myself to take to the other house.
Hopefully you don't have a piano to move also...

They could possibly have it as an option... the build wouldn't change, just a different component.

Tesla would have to allow for the cost, and put in millions of ramps that people don't want.

Everything is possible if the demand is there.

I thought that they had the numbers for a ramp when they did the unveiling. How would they have found out that the numbers "aren't" there? Wouldn't we have heard about that? Surely they wouldn't be stupid enough to ask market analysts.

A non powered, featureless tailgate in the pickup tailgate wars?! They need something if the ramp doesn't make it.

Call me a little bias as I owned two ridgelines, but that side winging tailgate was nice. Effortless to open and close. Plus getting to the in-bed trunk and stuff in the bed was much easier. Hopefully Tesla comes up with some type of feature if the ramp doesn't make it.

I'll settle for a sealed cabin and boat mode. We all know, Elon already put a jet drive and sonar in the diaper. FSC (Full-Self Captaining) so i can mount a fighting chair in the bed and do some deep sea fishing. Still hoping for the rear window to go down so it can cool my ass crack while pulling in the tuna.

Do you think the accessories team (sourced by MDR btw) is working on a tuna tower that uses the rooftop attachment points?

Maybe Tesla has beefed up the tailgate so that it can handle heavy loads. That doesn't improve the getting in/out aspect but maybe an after-market ramp could work then. Those tailgate cables looked pretty beefy in the Baja photos.

What do you think the battery range hit would be for having the ramp built into the tailgate? If the ramp is included, I hope it will be something that can be detached/removed to save weight. I like the idea of the ramp and would use it occasionally, but definitely not every day.

I would expect negligible affect on range as the weight change is minor compared to the overall vehicle and there is no other (e.g., drag) change.

I want a ramp as much as anyone (loading dirt bikes, in my 50's, after a long ride!), and I'll buy as an accessory if available. That being said, kneel mode has got to be more convent than loading bikes on my current 4.5" lifted GMC 2500.....or even a non lifted full size truck!

Also for getting in the bed (human, not dog), looks like the tailgate has a bit of a step on the sides and the bumper may have similar (hard to tell from the pics)....but again, with kneel mode should be easier than my current truck.

So it's all upside as far as im concerned - aka improvement! but still really want the ramp!
