Quick query, the Cybertruck is officially listed at more than 80" wide with the mirrors folded. Why are there no amber marker lights like Raptor or TRX? I thought this was a NHSTA requirement?

I believe the mirrors are not included in NHSTA’s calculation

I thought it was 79.99 inches wide? My Range Rover is 80.59 inches wide with mirrors folded in. Actually crazy how my RR is wider than CT. Wish they kept the CT at the original specs as unveiled. I extended my garage to 23ft long to accomodate it when I built my new house.

The Tesla website says the cyber truck is 86.5 inches wide with mirrors folded in. This is very wide in general and for comparison is about the same as a Ford raptor and even the first generation military Hummer H1. Most full-size pick ups are about 80 inches wide.
The ram TRX is the widest that I am aware of at 88 inches wide which I have been driving for 3 1/2 years now and the width does take some getting used to even for those of us used to driving trucks. Length seems to be a focus for many, but driving wise. Extra length is not such a big deal unless you are parallel parking, but the width is something you have to be much more on top of especially in urban environments

Regarding the marker lights, I’m assuming the light bar in the front addresses this. The marker lights I believe originated from a very wide vehicle not being confused as two motorcycles or something like that with a continuous light bar you will not need the marker lights same as the Rivian’s that are over 80 inches wide

The marker light requirement requires amber lights, the light bar wouldn't qualify afaik.

Also, it's under 80 inches the way they are required to measure it for the regulation you're referring to (mirrors don't count).

I had a Raptor, it was one of my favorite trucks, 2016 version. It's a WIDE truck for sure! But it's over 80 inches WITHOUT the mirrors. It filled my standard size garage and you wouldn't want to "bounce" it in.

The CT will lower so height isn't really an issue, the mirrors fold, I think we're all good.

CT is listed at 79.99 absent mirrors (not folded) - this is NHSTA measurement of relevance, no marker lights required (80" pretty standard for any 1/2 ton truck that isn't eg Raptor/TRX)

But that 79.99 includes ~4” of fender flare

It’s 86.6” wide with the mirrors folded, or a 95” mirrors out

For comparison, Lightning is 79.9” absent mirrors (and doesn’t have fender flares), 83.6 folded, 96” extended

Your Range Rover presumably 73.6” (no mirrors), 80.6” (Mirrors In) / 87.0” (Mirrors Out)

So, accounting for the CT’s fender flares (and it’s ‘hidden’ buldge at the middle section), metal to metal the CT is ~2.5” wider than the Range Rover

Explains in part how their interior dimensions (assuming RR standard wheelbase) are similar, with CT having a touch more shoulder room (not accounting for real-world packaging/ergo)

Range Rover:
Head Room (F/R) 39.3/39.2
Leg Room (F/R) 39.9
Shoulder Room (F/R) 60.8
Hip Room [RR doesn’t report?]

Cybertruck:
Head Room (F/R) 41.6/39″
Leg Room (F/R) 41/40.9
Shoulder Room (F/R) 63/62
Hip Room (F/R) 57.2

Edit to add: due to confused response earlier RE Raptor/TRX, the Raptor etc. is 86" absent mirrors

Good explanation.
However, the TRX is 88 inches wide.
Width needs to include widest points across the body, including fenders (the larger wheels go right up to the edge of these flares, anyhow) but not mirrors/or mirrors folded in

Me too. I feel you. Not fully the truck we were shown but pretty close.
